Hitman NYCC

Agent 47 has returned, and despite a delay Hitman seeks to challenge the player’s creatively to become the best assassin in the world. At this year’s NYCC Square Enix wanted to showcase Agent 47’s special talents and how these skills can beused to hunt down high valued targets. The target of choice for the demo, Victor Novikov: well known fashionentrepreneur and leader of spy rink called IAGO.

As Agent 47 you’re equipped with a wide array of talents and a mastery of weapons. Using these skills are essential to success, but the environment is also a vital tool. Littered throughout the landscape are fire escapes, NPCs and disguises for the player to exploit for their own needs. NPCs will react to the player’s actions and could prove to have long-term effects during a mission if the player isn’t careful. Of course this can be used the player’s advantage, allowing them to exploit certain mechanics to ensure success. Like the speaker, Alexandria, stated missions are like “Swiss Chesse”. 

In the demo Agent 47 is faced with many challenges to reach his target. To get to Victor 47 must pass through his personal body guards. Even after fooling several fashion show staff members by staying out of sight and dawning multiple disguises  Enforcers are not easily fooled. They can spot 47 regardless of his appearance, making them major threats. 

Hitman is giving players the ability to become the greatest assassin in the world. You’re given the tools to complete each task in multiple ways and it’s up to you to decide with path to take. Some are hidden are others more direct. Will you become the perfect weapon, will you become Agent 47?
