I am reading entirely too much

Back when I used to work for directory assistance, I did a lot of reading.  I'd always be bringing a book to work, reading it inbetween phone calls.  When I was laid off in 2005, however, I feel out of the habit.  Found a new job, but it was entirely too busy to read there.  When I quit that job, I found a job at the Denver Public Library, and for the first few months, I didn't read anything at all, even though I in fact worked at a place that had tons of books.  For 2006 and 2007, I don't think I read one book at all.

But in 2008, I started reading again.  I believe I read 19 books.  Having gone two full years of not reading to reading 19 books in one year is a dramatic improvement.  Before 2009 rolled over, I made a goal to read 20 books this year, and I've already surprassed it.  I do'nt know the exact number, but I think I've surpassed 25 books.

Even though I love reading, I'm thinking that maybe I'm reading too much.  It's become my number one hobby now, replacing gaming.  If it wasn't for the bit of Wii Sports Resort I played last night, I wouldn't have played anything for a week now.  I  haven't even touched a handheld for months.  When I go to work, it's a book I take with me for my breaks, not a DS or a PSP.

I've wanted to spend some time here today to try to read and post at the same time, but I think I'm going to turn my computer off after I finish this blog and focus soley on reading.  I'm currently reading The Rising, by Brian Keene, and it's an exceptional book about zombies.  I actually don't want to be distracted by anything while I read it.

After I finish this book, I'll make another blog post that will list to you guys everything I've read for this year.  So, if you need to find me, I'll most likely have my nose burried in a book!  :P
