After beating Melchiah, one of the game's many bosses, you will gain access to additional powers. But before they can find him, they must solve a mystery. With the addition of a compass, the game becomes much easier to traverse than the original PS1 version.

You will go through Necropolis before facing Melchiah. Some of you believe he lurks behind the enormous gate of a previous problem, but he appears shortly after. You will know they are in Melchiah's chamber puzzle when they see his symbols all over the floor and a lift on the other end of where they came from. You will begin by taking the lift down to the lowest level. You can then choose either the left or right path.

Both are feasible options, but there will be two adversaries on the right path and only one on the left. The adversary on the left has a spear impaling them, allowing you to deal with all three foes without having to run back and forth, picking up torches.

Once the player reaches the easternmost point of the route, he or she will be able to use a door. To get to the switch, just follow the west wall. Continue to go east along the walls until you reach a large crank. Engage the crank to operate the enormous apparatus. This machine will be extremely useful in the upcoming boss fight with Melchiah.

Retrace your steps to the lift and return to the top floor. To lower the middle platform, use the lever positioned opposite the elevator. After jumping down, flee to the northwest corner. Looking along the west side will reveal a tunnel that runs downhill. After passing through this tunnel, you will enter a room with four blocks organized around fires. If pushed to their limits, these blocks will burn and fracture the wooden timbers that hold the middle platform. After the short wood-burning cinematic concludes, move to the next block until the platform falls.

The blocks can be pushed again. Arrange the blocks to face the four corners of the central platform. When you press one into the correct location, you will hear a clicking sound.
The final component of this challenge is to arrange the four bricks so that the platform drops again. Descend to the central platform and go eastward. Once you approach an open gate, you must hurry since it will close behind you. Melchiah, the boss, will be summoned in this manner.
