An internal point of discussion at NoobFeed often is if we need more Call of Duty coverage. The answer to that is: No. No one needs that large an amount of coverage for one title. Yet here we are, or rather I am, being completely hypocritical and launching another tired set of Call of Duty articles, under the guise of it being different somehow. Different how, you ask? Different in the way that I haven’t touched a Call of Duty game in ages, but with the release of a free multiplayer weekend on Steam, I decided to see what the fuss about Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was. Brian is going to love this one.

What follows is a ton of footage about one of the most well-known shooters of this era. There’s a reason why it is so well-known and I know it firsthand now. This franchise excels at offering arcade-type shooting mechanisms; placing players in confined areas, each guided to central choke points for maximum exposure. By adding to that a scoring system that thrives on killing frequently, it drives up the pace to even higher standards, where every second is one spent looking for that extra bit of gratification. Instant and everlasting impulses, combined with smooth controls and a plethora of customization and game modes, make this one of the more refined shooters in its genre. I certainly can’t see where all the hate comes from. Yes, it’s not Half-Life, but so very little games are. This one provides just fine for those that want a game that’s easy to pick up and play and then put down when something else pops up. If I were to score it on the ever so brief moments I spent with it, I’d go so far as giving it an 8/10 for doing a bang up job. It could tone down on ridiculous kill streak incentives though, maybe. You can watch me die a lot in a set of gameplay commentaries below.
