My Top 25 Games of All Time (Part 1) + Some News

Opinion by -Moroes- on  May 06, 2010

Alright so before I begin my countdown I would like to share something that happend to me today. I was walking my dog outside and I said hi to a neighbor.  We talked for a little while, and the subject of football (american) came up.  Long story short, the guy I was talking to is a former NFL player, and he is going to be helping me train for the next season.

As for my list, please keep in mind that this is my personal opinion.   There are many games I haven't played, and plenty of games that if I played would have broken this list... but as of May 5th, 2010... these are my top 25 games. Also I will be listing only the platform that I played the certain game on, instead of all of the platforms.

"Big Ben probably isn't the ideal poster child for the NFL"

(25) The Madden Series (PS3,Gamecube): Football has been a passion of mine for five years.  Sadly, I will most likely never become pro... but I have the next best thing.  Through out the years this video game evolved from simple skirmishes, to having an option to create your own player or franchise.  May I also add that the graphics for the latest Madden make you feel like you are actually in an NFL game.  A big reason why this game made my list is the countless hours I spent working on my franchise in Madden 06, Madden 07, and Madden 10.  Keep on keeping on EA!

"Ew... get a tan"

(24) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3): Let me first say that Uncharted 2 is not on my list, due to the fact that I haven't played it yet, but if Uncharted 2 is anything like the first one then its one hell of a game. We all sometimes wish that we could just leave our lives and go treasure hunting... don't we? But in all seriousness the main thing that made this game so memorable is the perfect mix/balance of platforming and shooting action.  You will have platforming sections where you can solve possibles to continue the story line, but just in case things get too boring there will be hectic 3rd person shooting action from time to time. The game had a great pace and the story wasn't too bad either. Overall, this game's creativity, quality of action, and protagonist gave it a special place in my heart.

"I left my green card in my other stolen car..."

(23) Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3): All the fun of murder, arson, larceny and other capital crimes without the side effects.... like jail time.  Like the previous Grand Theft Auto games, its plain fun to blow shit up and go on random killing sprees... but unlike previous GTA games the story was top notch, as well as the cast of characters.  Plus Nikko is Russian, so thats an automatic +.

"Good ole' 8 bit memories."

(22) The Pokemon Series (GBA/DS): There was a 3 month period when Pokemon Yellow was in absolute control of my life.  All of the games have been carbon copies of their predecessor, but surprisingly every new release is still fun.  A pioneer of RPG's, and probably the most successful RPG game on any hand held. From Yellow, to Silver, to Ruby, to Diamond... each adventure is slightly tweaked but basically identical... but for some reason it keeps you coming back . Even after you beat the game, you will want to max level a lot of your Pokemon and witness everything the game has to offer.  This game has the most replay value of any singleplayer handheld game.

"VATS: Making uglies even uglier since 2209".

(21) Fallout 3(PC/Xbox 360): Nuclear apocolypse... the final frontier.  Bethesda attempted to revive the Fallout series, and succeeded.  The perfect blend of RPG character development with first person shooting action.  This open world sandbox game has an endless stream of things to do.  And all of these activities are driven by choices.  As your character develops you will be develop into an evil, good, or neutral person using the karma system.  Meaning you can decide to assasinate a man to lower your karma or you can kill the person requesting the assassination to increase your karma.  If your looking to burn some time, you can't go wrong with Fallout 3.
