If you're an avid Playstation fan, you've probably played the classic Ratchet & Clank platform games. Taking place in a science fiction-like setting, the game follows the adventures of Rachet and Clank, a feline and robot duo who set out to defeat evil forces on a day-to-day basis.

The first ever Ratchet & Clank video game was released November 2002 by Insomniac Games, a company who was unaware of the future success and impact their game would have on the generations to come. The franchise produced a total of eight games following the success of the first, and good news for fans, they have announced a reboot for PS4.

Insomniac Games has just come forward with screenshots of a new Ratchet & Clank game, currently being developed alongside the CGI movie version of the game announced at E3.

Developers of the game have confirmed the game will continue with its original title 'Ratchet & Clank,'  but will set out to impress with update gameplay and newly generated graphics to fit the next generation console.

No specific release date has been mentioned as of yet, but Insomniac Games have responded to fans questions with the following statement:

"In 2015, we have the rare (actually, for us, unprecedented) opportunity to expand Ratchet’s universe simultaneously in two forms. We’ll continue our involvement with theRatchet & Clank feature film. And we’re excited to announce that we’re also developing a game that shares the film’s vision of Ratchet’s origin story. As featured in Sony’s press conference, the game re-imagines the original Ratchet & Clank, with updated gameplay and completely new visuals built from the ground up for the PlayStation 4.

Our California and North Carolina studios are making the game together, marking our deepest cross-country collaboration to date. Many of the original developers responsible for the very first Ratchet & Clank game have an opportunity to create the stunning Solana Galaxy that they–and our fans–have always wanted to see. Longtime Design Director Brian Allgeier, Studio Director Chad Dezern, and Game Director Shaun McCabe will lead the project."

We are super excited for this game and cannot wait to get more details! To get the latest, follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news in gaming!
