Non Gaming Characters as gaming characters
People by Koshai on Mar 28, 2011
Imagine you have some of your favorite characters, whom you really want them to see in the game. It could be one of the gamers’ dreams come true. There are tons of characters out there, who, if they are willing (or if the producers are willing to release the shackles, which binds the characters to enter the gaming world), can line up in the audition. This is a new series feature, where I will focus mostly on non-gaming characters. So let me go for the list.
Stewie Griffin
He is one little guy I can think of at first (or maybe I just watched an episode of Family guy on Adult Swim just now). Think about this; let us have a game with Stewie as a main character, in his conquest to be the ultimate conqueror of the world. He could have lots of weapons in his possession including his favorite toy laser cannon. He could have set of diapers as his armors (steel diaper anyone?). There could be many adversaries in his path, like the tooth fairy, Brian or the ultimate villain in the game Lois Griffin. He also can have occasional challenges like Hannah Montana for example, where Stewie is the biggest fan of her. There is another alternative idea of Stewie acting as the main character. Let’s have an RTS with him playing as a General and ordering his minions (the dolls) to attack the enemy base.
Lady Gaga
Think about this. She could be a major gaming character. If the King of the Pop, Michael Jackson (R.I.P.) can have a game with him as a character, then what’s wrong with not having Lady Gaga anyway? Imagine a scenario; she could use all her weirdness to her advantages. For example, she could use her weird fashion dresses as part of her battle armor. Anyone remember the infamous meat dress? She could use her dress to store food (her dress becoming an inventory) and she can use it anytime during the battle and eat the dress without worrying about anything else if her health goes down in the battle. However she could run out of food, when she is naked (ESRB will definitely rate this game as M), unless she hunt down an animal, skin the animal out and make another dress. She can also refill health energy in one of the egg shaped compartment (which she actually used in the recent Grammy). Of course she doesn’t need a weapon. Her over the top influential powers and voice can create blind minions (teens and kids) and make them go to the battlefield. She can also shield herself with her minions too. If you have played as the princess in 8-Bit Hero in PSP, you know what I mean.
Charlie Sheen
If I was a game producer, I would definitely put him to any sandbox type games, particularly in next GTA or Saints Row. He has a self-desire of “winning” everything and he won’t give up until he conquers each and everything he desires to have up to 100%. It doesn’t matter how he achieves it. It could be vocal fight, fist fights or even street war with weapons. Not to mention he can be a perfect character for either GTA or even Saints Row where violence is one of the key focus in the games. Why? Remember the film Hot Shots, where he scored record for most body counts than any other film characters during his time (John Rambo, The Terminator, The Robocop)?
The 300 Spartans from the Movie 300
I do have an advice to Microsoft if they want to release an exclusive in reply to the popular God of War series from Sony. They can make 300. You can control King Leonidas and lead a team of 300 people in the battle against the Persians. It could get gory as hell and such a violent game could be a best seller, since it will serve as a stress release for gamers. Kratos is a Sparta. He himself is enough to create an insane scenario. So if you have 300 men like Kratos, so what will it turn out to be? Will it go beyond insanity? Who knows!!!!
Lucy from Elfen Lied
If you are an anime lover, it’s hard to miss the anime Elfen Lied, which is considered to be one of the most violent anime ever made. With Lucy having psychotic powers, she can single handedly finish off any army base she could find. Due to her instability in her powers, the game can add some challenges by including the split personality. Initially she can begin as Nyu, her nonviolent state, when she has to spend most of the time running away from enemies and develop emotions (emotion meter can be introduced) and finally when the time comes to inflict her emotions, she can turn into Lucy and wipe out everything within seconds. So the game can have some basic storylines, character development, and stealth and action gameplay in the process.
Dexter
I am talking about the TV series, not the cartoon. If there are abundance of detective games right now and more coming in the future, like L.A. Noire, making a detective game from Dexter series could be a good idea. The detective skills along with his traits of a serial killer can be a deadly combination for a perfect protagonist, provided if the developers violates the cursed trend of making bad games from movies and series.
Every character from the film Machete
It is a good idea to create a game from the film Machete or even take all the characters into the consideration of making a great action game. Machete has everything: corrupt politicians and armies as villains, Machete Cortez as the ultimate melee character with his handy machete, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan (in her nun dress, equipped with sub-machine guns) as femme fatales. To make things spicier how about we have an idea of recruiting sexy nurses with guns?
People from Fox News
It seems Fox News have developed a form of personal vendetta against games and gamers too. So why not we make them as primary antagonists and create a form of faction for them, who wants to create a New World Order to drives games out for good. So the players can take control of someone and make that someone pass through guards and armies of the New World Order in his/her process to defeat the New World Order and route out its existence.
Rebecca Black
She just became a wide known celebrity within few days since her release of her infamous viral video “Friday”. Since I would call her Miss Obvious, after listening to her infamous lines from the song, imagine if the developers had a chance to put her as a DLC addon in any Sims series. The oh-so Miss Obvious could put advice to the dumb gamers, by saying:
After Friday comes Saturday, so the player should get excited and party.
Its 7 Am and people should wake up and go to school.
You should seat on the back seat or in the front seat of the car.
I don’t want to continue. If you want to know more of her advices please refer to her Friday video.
Me (Koshai)
Don’t I deserve to be a gaming character? If so then what should I be and what will I do. Should Angry Cat be my sidekick? Please advice?
