NoobFeed 101
News by RON on Mar 11, 2010
You should experience a faster NoobFeed from now on. If you don’t, post your complains here.
You might experience few glitches here and there for the framework update. If you do, post them along with your complain too.
Many of you have been complaining that your friends don’t visit NoobFeed because of its speed. If you notice the improvement of the speed, send a buzz to those friends. It’s time we all finish our NoobFeed 101 course.
Why is NoobFeed faster now?
Ans. – NoobFeed is lighter for any web browser now. It stores more data in your browser's cache memory than it used to. At the same time we have reduced the number of queries taking page before loading each page. If you don’t refresh (Ctrl+F5) your browser once you load a page of NoobFeed (e.g: Forum), each page will load very fast. Say around 98% faster. If you are in a habit of cleaning your browser often, then the speed will reduce to 60%. Which is still 60% faster than the previous speed. So, suit yourself according to your internet speed.
However, there is one disadvantage, as every system has its pros and cons. The browser will update its content after each 10 minutes. This doesn’t include your posts or comments; they are rather our site’s news, reviews, featured thread etc. Which usually doesn’t change in each 10 minutes anyway. But for the time being your comments and posts too will appear after few minutes. We are working on that and will be fixed within a day.
Optimization is done. Time to move on. Guess what’s next?
