Oh, Snap!

Hi, folks! Well, I'm back after some pretty intense few weeks of my senior year (actually, it's still pretty intense, I'm just trying to keep up).

Now, on to the updates!

Dark Reign: The Future of War:

This ain't your momma's Starcraft. I recently got back into it (as it's an awesome game, and I love it lots more than Starcraft simply for the sheer awesomeness of the units), and it's just as every bit as brutal as you can imagine. It's not a clone of SC in any way; rather, it established the very first fast-paced RTS in history. Bases and resources are a recurring function in Dark Reign (meaning that you can fire and forget most buildings with the exception of defenses), so the focus is on unit production and combat.

Units can be told to search  and destroy, escort, harass, or otherwise patrol given areas of the map. Most units are made to be fast and deadly, like the Imperium's Tachyon Tanks and Desolators, or the Freedom Guard's Triple Rail Hover Tank (BEST. UNIT. EVER) and Sky Bikes. Defenses are pretty useless against a well-sized force, meaning that unlike Starcraft, if an enemy gets into your base, it's pretty much decimated, unless you can pull back your entire attack force to flank theirs.

The first game in my list of "Wanted Reboots". Pretty much sucks since it's owned by Activision.

Das Boot:

Building a boat for Physics class out of nothing but aluminum cans and duct tape. Sounds easy. Well, it probably is. But maybe we'll see.

Prepare for Descent:

An oldie, but still a goodie. The first FPS to explore 360 degrees of freedom, Descent was unique in the fact of its story, gameplay, and setting. Playing as the Material Defender (MD1203), you work for, get betrayed by, and then fight against the Post-Terran Mining Corporation, who employ the use of robots in their facilities (and which you eagerly destroy) to safeguard their resources (which you take or destroy). I currently play the 3rd game (which looks weird on my modern system), but the entire series is a great rush.

Another game in my list of "Wanted Reboots". Interplay is said to be working on it.

Ragnarok Online:

Yep, still playing it. Can't seem to shake the habit.

Blacklight Tango Down:

A solid multiplayer FPS package that I'll be purchasing this summer, before I get into college (and alongside Brink).

Welcome to the Metro:

Metro 2033 was surprisingly a solid game (to me, anyways). I liked the story, but found it too short. Nonetheless, it's a great post-apocalyptic premise. :)

That's all for now!
