Oni Armaments are powerful weapons that give Musashi additional ways to deal with the Genma in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. There are seven Oni Armaments to find throughout the game. Some are obtained automatically during the story, while others are hidden in chests that are easy to overlook.

This guide covers all seven Oni Armament locations in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, including where to find each weapon and whether it can be missed.

All Oni Armaments in Onimusha: Way of the Sword

The seven Oni Armaments are The Two Celestials, Oni Bow, Wind-Whipper, Earth-Shakers, Firebird Flute, Flashing Void, and Still Water. Two are tied directly to story progression, while the remaining five require you to explore specific areas and find their chests.

The Two Celestials

Onimusha: Way of the Sword The Two Celestials armament

Location: Kiyomizu-dera Temple

The Two Celestials is the first optional Oni Armament you can collect. During your time at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you'll encounter a second Oni Gate being held shut by a Thread Genma.

Defeat the second Thread Genma, and the treasure chest held within its threads will drop. Open the chest to obtain The Two Celestials.

Oni Bow

Location: Oni Refuge

The Oni Bow is obtained from a treasure chest along the main path through the Oni Refuge. You don't need to go out of your way to find it, and it is required for story progression.

Because of this, you cannot permanently miss the Oni Bow during a normal playthrough.

Wind-Whipper

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Wind Whipper armament

Location: The Oni's Apprentice

Wind-Whipper is another story-related Oni Armament. During the Oni's Apprentice mission, you'll be introduced to the Skills practice grounds and Boss Rematch features.

A treasure chest appears after this sequence, containing Wind-Whipper. Simply continue through the mission and collect it when it becomes available.

Earth-Shakers

Location: Underground Laboratory, Underground Level 4

Earth-Shakers can be found inside a treasure chest on Underground Level 4 of the Underground Laboratory.

Progress through the laboratory until you reach the area after the fan puzzle. The chest containing Earth-Shakers is located in the following section. This Armament is optional, but you can return to the laboratory later if you missed it.

Firebird Flute

Location: East Spirit Shrine

Firebird Flute is located in a chest near the area where the Rift appears during Shadows Fall.

Travel to the East Spirit Shrine, south of Gojo Street, and search the surrounding area for the chest. Since this Armament isn't required for story progression, make sure to explore the area before moving on.

Flashing Void

Onimusha: Way of the Sword The Flashing Void armament

Location: Castle Courtyard, Mount Oe

The Flashing Void is hidden in the Castle Courtyard at Mount Oe.

Look for a small cave in the area that requires Musashi to slide through the entrance. The treasure chest inside contains the Flashing Void. This is one of the easier Armaments to overlook if you stick closely to the main path.

Still Water

Location: Swamp of Arashiyama

The final Oni Armament, Still Water, is found in the northeastern section of the Swamp of Arashiyama.

Explore the northeast corner of the area and look for the treasure chest containing the Armament. Once you've collected Still Water, you'll have all seven Oni Armaments.

Can You Miss Any Oni Armaments?

The Oni Bow and Wind-Whipper are obtained through story progression, so they cannot be permanently missed. The other five Armaments are found in optional chests, but you can return to their locations later in the game.

You can continue exploring and collecting them until the point of no return before the final mission, The Clash at Rendaino. If you're approaching the final mission with unfinished collectibles, make a manual save first.

Final Thoughts

Finding all seven Oni Armaments is worthwhile if you're aiming for a complete collection or the Oni Armory trophy or achievement. While two are handed to you during the story, the remaining five require you to explore areas such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the Underground Laboratory, Mount Oe, and Arashiyama.

Keep an eye out for the optional chests as you progress, and make sure you've collected the full set before entering the final point of no return.
