PAX South 2016 - Interview - Infinium Strike
Defend humanity's last home
by Grayshadow on Feb 01, 2016
Sometimes you have to deep dive into the heart of PAX South to find the gems of the convention. This is how I came across Infinium Strike, a tactical tower-defense game with arcade elements imbued into the gameplay.
With humanity on the brink of extinction the last refuge lies in the Freedom Strike, a massive Ares-Class Battlecarrier. This enormous ship is outfitted with changeable turrets and specialized drone fleets. The Wrog, an alien race bent on humanity’s extinction, seeks to destroy the Freedom Strike. However by destroying their forces the player can gain access to infinium, a rare element that can be used to defend and destroy the Wrong.
It’s up to the player to decide how to outfit the Freedom Strike. With a myriad of options players must mix and match different defensive and offensive weapons in order to repel waves of attacks. Each attack comes in waves and as the Weapons Officer it’s up to you which weapons to deploy.
For a more in-depth look check out our video interview with creative director of Codex Worlds, Dexter Chow. Infinium Strike’s demo is now available on Steam and will release on PC and consoles in Q2 of 2017.
