PvP is baked right into the land. You can follow the story without it, but if you want the best gear, you will end up in spots where people fight. This guide helps you know where to go and what to expect when things get dangerous.

Understanding the Map and Danger Zones
The island of Tartarus is split up by how much risk you want to take. If you stay on the left side of the island, you will mainly deal with PvE threats.
The right side is different. That is where the zones with PvP enabled sit. The most dangerous place of all is the Shadowlands. In this area, combat is always on. There are no safe spots there. Anyone can attack you at any time, but the rewards are much higher if you make it out.

Loot and Rewards for Fighting
You don't just fight for no reason. PvP is how you get some of the best stuff in the game. When you beat others, you can take their Loot. You can also find rare materials for Crafting, high-tier Gear, and Artifacts in Pioner.
Some areas have specific points you need to hold. These spots draw in squads and solo players, so you should expect a fight whenever you move toward a resource point or a valuable zone.

Factions and Rules of Combat
Who you join matters for Progression. Some Factions hate each other. This results in missions where you must enter contested areas to complete a goal in Pioner.
The game has rules to keep things fair as well. There are measures to prevent camping and systems to protect solo players. You won't be forced into a fight while you are just trying to do the main story. This keeps the fighting competitive for people who actually want to be there.

Special Modes and Events
Outside of the open world, you can find other ways to test your skills. The Shadowlands uses an extraction style of play where you have to get your items out to keep them.
There are also activities for a Clan and limited-time events. These events typically have their own rules and distribute special items. Whether you like open-world chaos or structured matches, you can find a way to earn your keep in Pioner.
