Preview 01: UFC 09: Undisputed

 

Well. I am starting up a new Feature in my writing, I call it Preview. That is because I will preview a game. Crazy I know, but just try to understand. This is my 2nd official blog feature. I call it a ForestFeature. Expect many to come. There will be 2 tonight. Maybe 3, see how I am feeling. Gotta crank these puppies out now don't I. Well I really don't because then the quality would be bad but w/e. On to the game.

UFC 09: Undisputed is you guessed it, a UFC game. For any of you who are not familiar with UFC it is a sports league. It is MMA (mixed martial arts). The game is published by THQ and is set to come out later this month.

 

The game features all your favourite UFC fighters although only 2 are availible in the build I have. The voices are all the official announcers and sound pretty good. The graphics in the game are what you would expect but do the job good enough. Keep in mind more spackle could get laid on before final ship date. The game offers a wide variety of moves and takedowns all varrying upon the fighters style.

 

The game feels more like a brawler than a straight up MMA game. It is very easy to put combos togeather and deliver blows. The fighting feels very stickman like. The moves are robotic and annimations are canned. The build I have only has single player but the game can do 1-2 players local and 1 v 1 online as well. Though the game does not feel as robust as a Fight Night there seems like fun could be had.

 

For a fan of UFC or just a fab of fun beating up sports action look for this game on your local store shelf later this May.
