Game Guide by Mash Rahman on Jun 02, 2026
Deep in the cold, snowy wilderness of Cyslodia, your fledgling resistance will be tested for survival against the sheer force of nature. Crossing the dangerous mountain passes, your party is attacked by a legendary apex predator: the Ice Wolf Leader. This boss fight is a major shift in combat dynamics from the human duels and slow lumbering lords you have faced before.
The Ice Wolf Leader is a hyper-aggressive, incredibly fast beast that uses pack tactics, territorial control, and devastating ice-elemental magic to completely overwhelm your defenses. It does not wait patiently for its turn to strike, nor telegraph its movements with huge weapons.

Instead, it depends on animalistic ferocity and sudden, blinding dashes to shred your health bars in seconds. In this guide, we will break down the precise tactics, party compositions, and strategic shifts needed to subdue this icy nightmare.
Key Preparations and Gear Tuning
You are charging into this frozen arena blindly without upgrading your equipment, it is a very dangerous gamble that will most likely result in an immediate party wipe. Before you go on this hunt, make sure to visit the local blacksmith in the liberated zones and get your equipment optimized. To get through the beast’s thick hide, you need to have Alphen using the highest-tier forged sword you can get.
Alphen, Shionne, Rinwell, and the martial artist you recently recruited, Law, will make up your party for this encounter. This boss does a lot of water and ice damage, so it’s a good idea to equip your active frontline fighters with any accessories that help with elemental resilience. These small defensive mods reduce the boss's magical blizzards' flat damage by a lot.
You also have to heavily restock your inventory with medical supplies before tracking the beast. Purchase as many Apple Gels as you can afford to heal your health points quickly. You'll also want to keep a healthy stock of Orange Gels to constantly refill your shared Cure Points pool, and a few Life Bottles to quickly reverse any sudden knockouts.
Setting up the Party AI for Defensive Success
The Ice Wolf Leader moves at a terrifying speed and will often switch to a different target mid-attack, so setting up your AI companions' behaviors is paramount to staying alive. For this fight, you need to take direct control of Alphen and use his heavy blade to actively draw the beast's aggression. Before the fight begins, pause the game and go to the Strategy menu to reconfigure your team's logic.
Shionne must be programmed to serve as your primary, dedicated lifesaver. Set her tactical parameters to focus only on healing and resurrection, ensuring she uses First Aid exactly when a character’s health falls below a safe threshold. Rinwell should be instructed to keep her distance and keep chanting her long-distance elemental spells.
Law should be set to be an aggressive secondary physical attacker, which will help you keep the pressure on the target. By leaving Shionne and Rinwell safely on the far side of the arena, you greatly reduce the likelihood of your entire party being frozen in a single, sweeping area-of-effect spell. This safe division of labor allows you to focus all your attention on close fights.
Working the Apex Predator Basic Kit
As soon as the battle starts, the Ice Wolf Leader will rush across the snow with violence to make up the distance. Its main physical arsenal is composed of lightning-fast biting combinations, sudden forward lunges and devastating tail swipes that cover a massive radius around its hindquarters. If you stick to its sides too much, it also likes to do a fast spinning attack.
To survive this first onslaught, you have to completely fight the temptation to mash your standard attack buttons mindlessly. The boss has a lot of natural hyper-armor in its normal animations, so it’s not easy to interrupt the forward momentum of its normal attack swings with your early-game sword swings. Instead, take a patient defensive position and watch its body language very closely.
When the wolf drops low to the ground or pulls its head back, it's preparing to do a high-speed lunging bite. Timing your dodge roll perfectly will trigger a Perfect Evade, which slows the action for a moment. Immediately follow this up with a Counter Edge strike to ensure critical damage while keeping Alphen completely safe from any harm.
Managing the Subordinate Wolf Pack
The real challenge in this fight doesn't come solely from the leader itself but from its ability to command the local wildlife. The boss will throw back its head and release a piercing howl shortly after the fight begins, summoning a pack of smaller, very aggressive ice wolves into the arena. Ignoring these additions is a massive mistake and your spellcasters will be totally overwhelmed very quickly.

The moment the lesser wolves appear, you'll need to temporarily divert your direct offensive focus from the main boss. Use Alphen’s wide-sweeping sword artes to quickly gather up and damage smaller wolves before they can interrupt Rinwell or Shionne. These smaller enemies have much smaller health pools and can be dispatched quickly if you chain your standard strikes together effectively.
You want to clear the arena of these minor distractions as quickly as possible to regain control of the battlefield. Once the smaller pack is gone, you can safely give your full attention to the leader. However, be warned that the boss will howl and repeatedly attempt to call in reinforcements during the fight.
Breaking Spell Casts and Using Boost Attacks
The Ice Wolf Leader is a consummate master of ice astral energy. Not only that, but he has awesome brute strength. During the fight, the beast will often retreat to a safe distance and start charging up huge elemental spells aggressively. You can easily spot this behavior by the glowing magical casting circles that appear right under its paws.
The beast, if left alone, will generate huge jagged ice spikes directly under your characters or a localized blizzard that does damage over time in a large area. Rinwell’s special Boost Attack is your best weapon here. The moment you see the boss start to chant a spell, activate Rinwell’s boost assist to instantly siphon its magic power.
Successfully stealing the spell will completely nullify the incoming elemental hazard and induce a severe Core Break state. This forces the giant wolf to crash helplessly onto the snow, completely paralyzed for a very long time. When it falls, have Alphen use his most powerful Flaming Edge skills to burn through its health pool without any opposition.
Navigating the Over Limit Storm
When you go well beyond half health on the Ice Wolf Leader, you'll see it gets even more ferocious, reaching an absolute peak. The beast will emit a savage growl and be enveloped in a blazing blue aura, letting everyone know it has officially entered its Over Limit state. It is twice as fast during this phase and cannot be staggered by normal means on any of its physical attacks.
If the blue aura appears, you need to stop attacking right away and go fully defensive. The boss will start running around the arena frantically, doing high-speed tracking lunges and casting spells with no charge time. Attacking the beast while it is in this state is a very dangerous gamble and will often end in an immediate knock out.

Just keep running around the outer edges of the arena in large circles. Constantly dodge roll to avoid the high-speed attacks. Be very careful with your shared Cure Points gauge, and if Shionne needs help keeping the party stable, manually use an item from your menu. Just try to live through it and wait patiently until the blue aura naturally fades away.
The Execution of the Last Blow
Once the intense Over Limit phase is over and the boss’s aura has safely dissipated, the beast will be heavily fatigued and very vulnerable to your attacks. This is your last chance to take advantage of its exhaustion and make the kill. Use Law's special Boost Attack to shatter the last of its physical guards and chain your sword assaults to keep it in a continuous stagger cycle.
As your party repeatedly racks up high hit counts against the isolated leader, the blue crosshair diamond that appears over its body will quickly fill up. When the Strike indicator starts flashing like crazy across your screen, press the corresponding directional pad prompt to perform a cinematic team-up finishing move. This last blow will drain all of its remaining health and will end the hunt.
Beating the Ice Wolf Leader is a big milestone and you can show you’ve mastered pack management and magical disruption techniques. The mountain paths of Cyslodia will finally be safe to travel with the alpha predator subdued. Your battle-hardened party can now rest at the nearest campsite, gather their resources with confidence, and push forward into the heart of the realm to confront the true architectural power behind the region’s oppression.
