Single-player games are more popular than ever. But not a lot of us have the time or money to dedicate to a single-player game. If you're one of these gamers here are 5 single-player games that you can enjoy in about 5 hours without breaking the bank.

5. Vanquish 

PlatinumGames has an extensive reputation for delivering over-the-top action titles such as Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising. A lesser-known title that shares the studio's passion for action was Vanquish. 

Vanquish is an over the top third-person shooter that never slows down. You'll jet propel between hundreds of robotic enemies while trying to save the world from a superweapon that microwaves people. It's insane and if taking down giant robots using an array of powerful weapons while inside an exo-suit sounds like a good time. Then you need to play Vanquish.

4. Inside

A follow up to the outstanding Limbo, Inside maintains the dark and disturbing atmospheric world found in Playdead's original game. Following a lone boy on the run, you'll travel through swamps and a city in search of sanctuary. No dialogue is spoken and much of the narrative is up to interruption. Once you reach the end of this 2-hour adventure, you'll be constructing your own theories of what just happened.

3. FAR: Lone Sails

FAR: Lone Sails is a short yet profound adventure. Moving through an empty world and maintaining your ship creates a heartfelt experience as you construct the world's story based on what you see in the environment. Empty houses, pictures, and boats all paint a narrative as you simply head in one direction. It's a relaxing experience with little challenge but leaves a massive mark when you reach the end.

2. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Self-published and developed by Ninja Theory Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is not only an outstanding adventure through a dark world but a lesson about mental health. Senua suffers from severe mental illnesses and the developers took extensive amounts of time working with experts to create a character that properly showcases them. What follows is a young and gifted warrior attempting to save her lover's soul while battling her own mind.

1. Titanfall 2

Titanfall lacked a single-player campaign but its sequel, Titanfall 2, came out swinging. A short and sweet campaign you take control of Jack Cooper, a new pilot who bonds with a Titan called BT. What follows is an insane series of missions involving time travel, boss encounters with elite mercenaries, and crazy platforming challenges.

The story and characters may seem generic but overall gameplay was nothing less but exceptional. Constantly delivering new areas such as an abandoned facility and jumping between moving airships. From start to finish you were doing something new using your existing skills.

It's unfortunate that Titanfall 2 released smashed between Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 or perhaps it would've sold better. But you can buy it now for more than half off, with some selling the title for $5.00. Best of all, the multiplayer, which is also excellent, has seen a surge in the player count since the release of Apex Legends.
