Top 5 E3 2012 Game Trailers
Opinion by Amaya on Jun 15, 2012
I promised to write something on E3 but my displeasure held me back. Perhaps I was too excited or had better expectations. Obvious, isn’t? Well, since E3 this year wasn’t all full of bad, there were some good as well. Watch Dogs gets worthy mention since it looked like is going to be a class game. Other than that there weren’t anything extraordinary but lots of eye catching trailers. So I’ve decided to pick the top 5 out of bunch shown during different conferences.
Thanks to Chris for making this cover.
Here goes the list-
5. SOUTH PARK: THE STICK OF TRUTH
Seeing Trey Parker and Matt Stone was an unexpected surprise. They, of course, made a few quips about the upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth, a role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The Stick of Truth lets players become the Fifth Ranger to the main cast and—what else?—save South Park. Unlike previous South Park titles, The Stick of Truth is written entirely by Parker and Stone, who've been rather vocal in their criticisms of other games in the franchise.
4. SPLINTER CELL: BLACKLIST [Preview]
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is an upcoming action-adventure video game from Ubisoft and the seventh installment of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series. Unleash the power of the most lethal agent to ever exist. You are Sam Fisher, and you've been given the ultimate freedom.
3. BEYOND: TWO SOULS
Sony's press conference opened with a presentation of Quantic Dream's new title called Beyond. Quantic studio head David Cage went onstage to discuss how the game will explore the theme of death and what potentially exists afterwards. The main character for Beyond is Jody Holmes, and it's worth mentioning that she is going to be played by none other than Ellen Page (you know, Juno, Inception, to name a few).
2. RESIDENT EVIL 6 [Preview]
The new gameplay elements allows for players to switch weapons, engage in close-quarter-combat, and perform fast evading maneuvers without slowing down. With new challenging enemies and a bleak environment Resident Evil 6 looks incredibly promising.
1. ASSASSIN'S CREED III [Preview]
All of my skepticism went away after seeing Assassin's Creed III shine. This now annualized series could use a rejuvenating spark after the last AC title, and this game is on the right track in fully achieving that goal.
That's all for now. I hope you've enjoyed these trailers as much as I did and at the same time don't blame me if your favorite one didn't get a mention.
