I read the web site of 2Worlds2 ten times to get this acurite. The story put into my own words belongs to German Companys Zuxxez Entertainment AG. Developed by Reality Pump. Published by TopWare Interactive and their copyrights.
Before the original game Two Worlds One: When Antaloor (the world where the story is based) was created at the beginning of time, the many races populating this paradise lived in harmony with one another. But this peace didn't last long. Uprisings took place and civil wars abounded. Conflict had finally won over peace. The skirmishing and full-scale battles finally reached such a proportion that civilization on Antaloor collapsed.
The effects of this were so far-reaching that almost all of Antaloor was crushed by the rival forces. The power structure of the four elements - Water, Fire, Air and Earth were stretched to it's limits, and only some heroic efforts were able to save it from collapsing completely. The scale of the destruction, was devistating.
This near-apocalypse saw the birth of a group called the Orphans. A small band who fought on the side of Good and though small in number, they decided to learn from the mistakes of their ansestors so that they could usher in a new era.
Four of these Orphans stood out from the rest (you meet them in Two Worlds One) and they were destined to be the spiritual leaders of the new age. During a historic meeting, the four created a powerful pact that would permanently repair the damage their ancestors had done to Antaloor.
They sacrificed their own dreams to bring peace to the land and swore eternal service to the four elements of power. In this way, the Gods of Antaloor were created and are still worshipped to this day.
Maliel, the Goddess of the Air,
Yatholen, God of the Water,
Throglin, God of the Earth,
and
Aziraal, the God of Fire,
The peace they held together lasted for a very long time. Until one day the evil Gandohar (you meet him also in Two Worlds One) discovered the old writings of the Orphans. He deciphered them and ultimately discovered the secret of the four elements' power (magic if you haven't caught on). A new wave of destruction now threatened all of Antaloor. Gandohar used his new-found knowledge to gain control of the elements and thus control the entire known world.
Gandohar, also known as The Dark Lord, knew that he would have to access the power of all for elements to even have a chance of becoming a God himself. He succeeded in disrupting the balance between the elements, because of his cunningly laid plans and tretchorus schemes.
At the same time as the God of Fire was vanquished, the gates of power opened up for the Necromancy element and since then its dark magic has spread evil across all of Antaloor.
The Dark Lord seized this unique oppertunity created by the coming of Necormancy without leadership. He began his evil path by trying to use the power through the body of Kỹra the heroes twin sister both whom are descendants of the Orphans. He thought that this would help him gain full control over the dark magic and attain a place among the remaining gods. But Kỹra's human body in spite of her ancestry could not stand the enormous strain of the procedure for very long.
So, having beaten Antaloor into submission, The Dark Lord now sits in his stronghold in Vahkmaar and comes up with a devilish plan to give him power over you the hero or anti hero depending on how you act. This is when Two Worlds One starts and to reveal any thing more would go into major spoiler teritory.
2Worlds2 Temptation:
Five years have passed since the dramatic events in Two Worlds One brought the whole world near to ruin and the hero's strength is finally gone. In the tralier here on GS you will see he is a prisoner in the dungeons of The Dark Lord's castle and any hopes he has of saving his sister Kyra seem to have vanished along with his freedom.
In spite of a self-sacrificing battle against evil (the good ending of Two Worlds One at least), the twins were separated and she is is now under the influence of a powerful magical spell that there is no escape. All the while Evil influences are attempting to awake the sleeping powers of an old generation in order to controle all of Antaloor, and the hero is powerless to do anything about it...
However, just as his despair has reached its lowest point, the light of hope appears from a completely unexpected direction. The hated Orcs he fought against in the first game put together a rescue squad and the hero is amazed when they free him from the chains of his tormentor. Still skeptical about this new truce between Humands and Orcs of whom have always been deadly enemies, the hero once again finds himself confronted by a completely new situation.
Now he has to find out why did the Orcs helped him, & learn as what he can about their mysterious leader. A legendary Dragon Queen. She is mysterious, baeutiful and if the hero has any hope for revenge he must learn to trust her.
So he starts out on a dangerous journey (2Worlds2) through a land desended apon by evil. A journey he hopes will shed light on Gandohar's dark past and help him find a weak point in the defenses of this powerful Mage. Only then can he finally rescue his sister, Kyra and all with better gameplay, sound and graphics.
Moving on.
Here is a Map from Two Worlds One HERE
Despite the massive landscape of rolling grasslands, murky swamps, and sprawling cities that spans over 60 square kilometres the images of the new epic 2Worlds2 have only to date only scratched the surface of beautiful world of Antaloor quite literally.
Deep underground there lie caves and mines rich with precious Veritas crystals, ancient mazes of catacombs from long forgotten cultures, and dark dungeons still reaking with the treasures of countless tortured prisoners.
