In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, your Clan choice shapes your character, affecting NPC interactions, passive effects after feeding, and ability acquisition speed. Knowing your Clan and its affinities is crucial for combat, dialogue, and progression.

Importance of Clan
Selecting a Clan determines your starting abilities. You can advance within your Clan’s ability tree, but unlocking abilities from other Clans requires effort. After completing the story mission A Star of Cold Aspect, you unlock Clan Contacts to learn cross-Clan abilities.
Only one ability per row can be equipped at a time, and unlocking costs depend on Clan Affinities, which include Celerity, Presence, Potence, Dominate, Blood Sorcery, Obfuscate, and Oblivion. If an ability’s affinity matches your Clan’s, learning it costs less, indicated by the Clan Affinity Tag.
Each Clan fits a different playstyle. You can use traditional archetypes as a rough guide to figure out what their jobs are, but the game doesn't directly translate to Dungeons & Dragons.

Clan Brujah
Clan Brujah serve as vampire enforcers, relying on strength and combat. Their passive, Brutality, boosts attack after feeding. Skills like Lightning Strike and Earth Shock provide crowd control. Brujah’s affinities—Celerity, Presence, Potence—synergize with Toreador powers.
Entrancing Kiss can turn enemies and costs fewer blood pips. Split Second helps reposition during fights if a charge is sacrificed.
If you prefer a direct, melee-focused approach to combat and prioritize strength over strategy, Brujah fits that style effectively in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
Clan Tremere
Clan Tremere specializes in Blood Sorcery, ending fights quickly with abilities like Cauldron of Blood and Blood Curse, which gather enemies for a powerful explosion. These powers cost large amounts of blood—no ability costs less than three pips, with Blood Salvo costing five but able to eliminate weaker foes with one hit.

Clan Banu Haqim
Clan Banu Haqim are assassins in the World of Darkness; after feeding, they gain temporary silence, granting stealth and reduced alertness. Their skills focus on erasing presence, with affinities in Celerity, Blood Sorcery, and Obfuscate, and they access cross-Clan abilities like Tremere and select Brujah and Toreador skills.
Abilities like Unseen Aura, Split Second, and Mute help them vanish mid-battle. Frequent feeding allows quick recovery and prolonged ability use.
Their perk boosts stealth during Vampiric Sprint, and they have the fastest melee attacks among Clans. Ideal for stealth, speed, and precision, Banu Haqim excels in disappearing between strikes in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
Clan Ventrue
Clan Ventrue represents the elite of vampire society, emphasizing resilience and control. Their passive grants increased damage resistance after feeding, making them suited to durability over agility. All powers are under the Dominate affinity, enabling enemy control through manipulation.

Mass Manipulation expands domination powers, affecting multiple enemies at once. Possession allows controlling opponents to attack others or walk off ledges. Cloud Memory helps in sneaking to avoid detection, while Terminal Decree makes enemies harm themselves or become stunned if stronger.
Ventrue works well with Toreador skills like Entrancing Kiss and Beckon, Lasombra's Glimpse of Oblivion, and Brujah's Taunt. It suits those who favor defense, crowd control, and keeping calm in chaos in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
Clan Lasombra

Taunt from Brujah is often better and suits Toreador’s Presence. Blink teleports for one blood pip but may be redundant with high mobility. Despite limitations, Toreador excels in fast combat in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
