What the... #1 & Announcement

Games by FetusZero on  Jun 20, 2010

I come here today to do four things: Show some more of Cryostasis by introducing a new kind of video I plan on doing over the time spent on NoobFeed, announce two new games and make a new blog announcement that have been pending for such a long time. Of course, the new blog announcement will find itself at the bottom completely, simply because I'll keep it as my special announcement :]

With Cryostasis I introduce a blog that could be defined as "What the...!?". The goal of the video is simple: Provide further gameplay videos of a game to my friends and enemies, all while showing a specific part of a game that made me say "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS/IS HAPPENING!?". Fortunately for me, I came accross a very strange part in Cryostasis that made me do both in terms of encounters and in terms of story. Without stretching it further as I'll explain some of it after you see it, here is the video:

Cryostasis - Fear

The specific location is in the prison-like area of the boat, in the 11th chapter I believe which is called "Fear", hence the title of the video. Just after freeing a dead man's soul, I come back from my visions with this strange noise of someone hitting on the ground. In this type of game, I quickly learned that hearing sounds is a bad thing. As I walk out of the cell to see what is out there armed with my trustworthy gun, I see that strange guy sitting at the end of the room on the second floor. Now.. I tried shooting him although he wasn't attacking me. Doing so brings you death automatically, so I went with what David told me: I went a gave him a warm hug, that guy has to be cold! That's when it begins.. The first enemy encountered definitely made me shout some bad words and the first time I did see him, he surprised me enough to actually kill me as I pretty much missed every shot. For the second guy, I did try hiding in a cell and coming out of cover to take a few shots, but I was dead in a matter of seconds, therefore I decided to just stand there and do what he did and blast him away one bullet after another. Everytime I see that guy sitting at the end of the room, I can only wonder what the hell is coming up next. As the video ends, you get a glimpse of a part of the story. Some may think that they do not understand anything of what the narrator says because they haven't played the game, but trust me, I didn't understand anything either. First the planet.. then that weird story telling? What the hell is happening in this game?

With that out of the way, It is now time to introduce two new games I have acquired this weekend.

X360Deadly
Deadly Premonition

I cannot say much about this game. You appear to play as York, some FBI Agent I believe and you find yourself trying to solve cases. The thing is.. the game is extremely cheap, the graphics are ugly, the gameplay is terrible, yet I was recommended the game BECAUSE of how terrible it was. There's even a bunch of lame jokes and York speaks to himself 98% of the time. He's just standing there, bends his head one way and starts talking to Zach. Zach never replies, Zach doesn't een exist I believe, but York talks to him all the time. It just makes the whole game funny. Throughout the title you encounter what seems to be strange zombies.. but they aren't zombies, they are souls straight out of the darkness as they can and will appear from below the ground right in front of you, bend backwards Exorcist style and start walking, teletransporting quickly towards you. However, you do get additional points for delivering some good headshots to them. Dark souls, horror game, FBI Agent that talks to himself, solving murder mysteries, and you are awarded points for doing headshots... I think that sums it up lol.

MMZC
Megaman Zero Collection

I think this one comes as no surprise, everyone pretty much knew I'd buy that game and unfrotunately, I wasn't able to get it on release day as I usually do with every Megaman titles. Reason beeing that I've been working overtime a lot lately and so I don't have the time to go fetch the games outside the city at GameStop and the likes and, over here, we only have two places that sell video games: One renews his sock every 5 months with old games (yep.. he's really bad) and the other one is always late, he didn't even know what the hell I was talking about when I asked if they had Megaman Zero.

Either way, if someone wants to learn more about Megaman Zero, I strongly recommend you to read one of my older blogs that was dedicated entirely to the announcement of this game, entitled "Rockman Zero Collection!", just click on the blog's title to be taken to it. The reason I do this is to save some space and prevent myself from ranting too much on it as I tend to usually do. I am about halfway through the first game right now. My plan is as such: Beat every games normally, and then I'll replay each of them going for the perfect scores, hidden secrets and additional stuff to unlock. That is very challenging for those who don't know, as they require some crazy amount of skills to do. While the games are a piece of cake if played normally by using Cyber-Elves to power-up, they are a different story when going for a 100% completion. Doing so requires you to beat every missions with an average of A or S-rank depending on the game and unlockable you want, and doing so requires using no Cyber-Elves at all, beating missions under a certain time, killing a minimum number of enemies, taking as little damage as possible (preferably none at all), collecting every Cyber-Elves of a mission (if you can't go there again after), etc. For later games such as Megaman Zero 3 (I think), you are also required to do these by using one specific weapon only, such as using the Z-Buster only and achieving an S-Rank at the end of the game, which can become ridiculously hard considering the Z-Saber deals the most damage despite it's short range.

Anyway, this is my blog. Oh, and for that special announcement? Well every new Megaman game I acquire comes with something, right? Expect to see The Blog of Love for Megaman: X in the following days or weeks. Why not right now at the same time as the acquirement of the game? Because I have yet to even start writing it and these blogs uses a lot of my personal time to be written. Reason being that when writing a Blog of Love for Megaman, I replay through the entire series in order to be sure I remember everything and I note down important aspects of it and in the Megaman X series, there is a specfic part of the story that is really important. I then proceed to write the blog, which in itself is rather long. Writing such blogs for me is like editing videos: I come in with a plan, I gather the required information, I start writing down a draft and gather some images/videos, I then need to decide what goes where with what part it will be and in what order I will do it, then I need to go through the entire thing again, fixing everything and sometimes, this also means scrapping the entire thing and starting anew. Unfortunately, such blogs need a lot of my time and as much as I love writing, you've seen the size of these type of blogs. The only good thing to come out of it is that I get to replay the entire series ;p

Until the next blog in which I resevre yet another surprise again, one of which you haven't heard yet (shh David, keep it down) lol nah, it isn't such a big surprise, I'll be bringing some change around here, so until then see you all and have a good day/evening/night, thank you for reading this blog :]
