What We Want From Doom 4
This is what I want to see in the next Doom

Today Bethesda released the new trailer showcasing their next, highly anticipated game, Doom. It has been over 10 years since the last major installment in the Doom franchise. Announced in 2008, and shown behind closed doors at QuakeCon 2014, the developers of id have promised to deliver a modern title that also has elements from the original games. It won't be until E3 that we'll see anything worthwhile, but until then we can still hope and speculate.
These are the five things I want from the next Doom.
Cooperative Play
When Doom 3 launched for the Xbox in 2005 it was well-received. Journeying throughout the game with a buddy added endless replay value after completing the campaign. It was a shame that this addition was omitted from the remastered BFG edition but hopefully a cooperative mode will return to the next Doom.
A horde mode should be considered. In addition to a campaign cooperative options a game mode that allows players to take on endless waves of demons would add some diversity to the game's modes.
Boss Rush Mode
The Guardian of Hell and The Icon of Sin are two of my favorite fights in the Doom franchise. Each game in the franchise has had a lot of popular boss fights, and rushing through them in one segment shouldn’t be overlooked.
Brutal Deaths
Dead Space popularized dying, showcasing some of the most brutal dying animations in video games today. Doom already has an array of demonic enemies to murder but seeing how they can turn the player inside out would be interesting to see. A chainsaw demon plunging the rotating blades down the player’s avatar throat or perhaps a Spiderdemon biting the head off the main character. Seeing that would be worth dying.
Dual Wielding
Mixing and matching powerful weapons in the Doom arsenal would be loud, powerful and fun. However putting a chainsaw in each hand, what better way to kill a demon twice your size.
Competitive Multiplayer
Competitive multiplayer has grown in popularity since the release of Doom 3. A competitive mode should be considered to add replay value and a upgrade system. Bethesda owns a lot of franchises and to integrate clever unlocks into Doom would encourage players to play longer. Clever multiplayer events, timed exclusives and leaderboards would ensure gamers come back.
