Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Guide | How to Get Overpowered Fast

In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the beginning of the game is a difficult time. The Village of Calamity serves as the starting point for this path, which ultimately leads to Two Chivalrous Heroes. It is significantly simpler to deal with the first three bosses because they have a quicker upgrade path and more intelligent Deflect and Spirit Gauge behaviors.

Area 1: Quick Loot Before the First Boss

In the tutorial area, find the decorated tree burning on the left, then grab the boxes on the right for a better chest piece. Run straight through the flames, then hug the right wall to avoid the tiger. Jump onto the building and find the roof hole. Grab the two nearby loot pickups first, then drop through the hole for a chest with much fancier pants.

The tiger is a risky early fight. A jump attack off the roof can still remove a large chunk of its health.

Combat Basics That Carry Every Boss

If you feel that the timing of the deflect is too strict, hold block as you tap dodge. When a deflect is missed, the block is still raised immediately. To move the Spirit Gauge toward the blue region, you should use basic attacks. Applying heavy attacks, which are often referred to as Spirit Attacks, will increase damage while the Gauge is blue.

Boss 1: Zhang Liang, General of Man

Make use of any important items that have previously been discovered and do as much leveling as you can before the encounter. The Enhanced Defense from the Earth category provides a temporary protective boost. A weapon that is speedier, such as a sword, is beneficial, and the load on your equipment should remain in the green.

Maintain proximity and high pressure. Deflect frequently. Make sure to dodge directly into Zhang Liang, General of Man, as he glows red. This will allow you to drain his Spirit and gain a critical hit when it breaks. Once the first takedown is complete, the second phase will begin, and only half of the second health bar will be required. Keep attacking with basic strings into Spirit Attacks and weapon special actions by holding the right bumper and pressing attack buttons.

Area 2 and Boss 2: Zhao Yun and Zhuyan

In the next region, Zhao Yun joins as a powerful ally. Send him in by holding the right bumper and pressing up on the D-pad.

At the wooden gate, the boss buffed Zhao Yun and drew his attention. Most attacks come from the front, so rotate to the back and create a pincer between you, your ally, and Zhuyan. Defeat Zhuyan to unlock the first Divine Beast, Qilin.

Area 3: Zhu Xia, Qilin Buff, and a Dragon Vein Crystal

After the arena, talk to the hammer-wielding blacksmith Zhu Xia twice to unlock buying other weapon types and upgrading. Qilin can be used as a one-time summon attack (Triangle + Circle / Y + B) or as a longer Divine Beast Resonation buff (X + Square / A + X). The buff applies Stone to your weapon, reduces damage taken, and increases spirit recovery.

Before the large gate ahead, check a nearby building for a Dragon Vein Crystal. This permanently increases the use of the Dragon's Cure Pot. Fill the Divine Beast Gauge before the next boss. If available, the Wood spell Inner Breath helps build that charge quickly.

Boss 3: Fengxi

It is easy to get rid of this boss. Immediately after entering the gate, you should boost Zhao Yun. Burn can be applied early on by using fire spells, and then the Qilin buff can be used when an opening presents itself. When it falls, you should deflect it and watch out for the belly flop. You should be prepared for the charging dash and deflect it just before it hits you.
