Elite Enemies and Equipment Drops

Throughout your journey, you will encounter powerful Elite Enemies scattered across various regions. Defeating these foes often rewards you with high‑quality Armor or other valuable gear.

These fights can be fatal, especially if you are low on levels or don't know how to get better. But instead of charging in without thinking, you can win the fight by calling on Madness to draw the enemy's attention and get the drop on you.

Summoning and Utilizing Madness

When you find yourself overwhelmed or repeatedly dying, consider summoning Madness to fight on your behalf. Madness will remain passive until provoked—so provoke it by positioning either Madness or the Elite Enemy just within each other's reach, ensuring they strike one another.

Once combat is initiated, Madness will engage and heal itself, whereas most Elite Enemies possess no self‑regeneration. This healing advantage makes Madness exceptionally capable of defeating foes that would otherwise overwhelm you.

Positioning and Engagement Strategy

Place enough space between yourself and the current battle first. Watch the moves of both Madness and the Elite Enemy from this safe vantage point.

When the opportunity arises—typically when they are close but not yet fully engaged—step forward briefly to provoke Madness or the enemy into attacking the other.

Then, retreat again and watch as Madness whittles down the opponent's health. Once the Elite Enemy nears defeat, move in to finish off Madness if you wish to reclaim control without interference, or simply collect your reward.

Key Points to Remember

Madness heals over time, unlike most Elite Enemies.

Aggro transfers only when either party strikes the other first.

Maintain distance until the moment to provoke is optimal.

Finish off Madness once the enemy has been defeated to reset the mechanic for future encounters.

Repeat this strategy whenever you find yourself struggling, using the game's mechanics to work in your favor.
