Top 5 Nintendo Switch Games of 2018

The best games to release on the Nintendo Switch this year

By Grayshadow, Posted 20 Dec 2018

The Nintendo Switch was the big winner of 2018. The rapidly selling console has broken numerous records, easily overshadowing the Wii U and even taking on Sony and Microsoft so late in this generation. However, it was the great exclusives that really pushed the Nintendo Switch into everyone's homes. Here are the best exclusives to release in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.

Mario Tennis Aces,Nintendo,NoobFeed,

5. Mario Tennis Aces

Returning to the core of the Mario Tennis franchise Mario Tennis Aces captures the exhilaration that previous entries delivered while also providing an extensive single-player experience. The wacky animations may convey an easy going sports title but hidden within the gameplay was a deeply engaging competitive title. Players had to constantly anticipate the opponents move to determine when they should use their special meter when also exposing the opponent. This chess game of back and forth just for one mistake is something that only rare games can capture.

Mario Tennis Aces was faced with balancing issues but over time Camelot Software Planning has made improvements so there are less Bowser Juniors running around the online competitive scene.  With the selection of DLC characters constantly growing Mario Tennis Aces still remains a strong online game that players of all skill levels can enjoy.

Kirby Star Allies,NoobFeed,HAL Laboratory,Nintendo,

4. Kirby Star Allies

Kirby Star Allies isn't the hardest game but what it lacks in challenge it more than makes up in charm and fun. Kirby is gifted with the ability to befriend his former enemies and allies turned evil in a short but eventful journey through Dreamland. The beautiful visuals and inventive gameplay made Kirby Star Allies less about completing the game and more about enjoying the journey.

Pokemon Lets Go,NoobFeed,Eevee,Pikachu,Game Freak,Nintendo,

3. Pokemon Let's Go

Marketed as a Pokemon game for both newcomers and veterans Pokemon Let's Go has players returning to Kanto in search of all 151 Pokemon once again. Modernized for the current generation players can visit all the iconic locations with visual improvements. The catching system has been simplified to resemble the Pokemon GO system and much of the battles have been reduced in difficulty but Pokemon Let's Go still captures the incredible feeling of training and building your perfect team of Pokemon.

Octopath Traveler,Square Enix,NoobFeed,

2. Octopath Traveler

Octopath Traveler is not only one of the best games of 2018 but one of the best RPGs to come out this generation. Focusing on story, Octopath Traveler has the player starring in 8 different adventures not to save the world but to accomplish personal goals set into motion because of the character's own path.

Each one is intricately crafted and voiced that any one of them could be a protagonist for their own game. Whether it's Olberic the warrior searching for answers or, my personal favorite, H'aanit looking to defeat a deadly beast each tale is full of exciting and remarkable moments. Octopath Traveler doesn't try to be more than a JRPG and because of that, it succeeds in creating an adventure specific tailored for those fans in mind.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,NoobFeed,Nintendo,HAL Laboratory,

1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Did you think that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate wouldn't be number 1? This fighting game brings everything the franchise has ever had and more. Most importantly it encourages those who avoid fighting games the chance to experience the genre without feeling at a disadvantage. With so many characters to choose from and an incredibly rich single-player mode Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a complete experience that excels in every category. The only issue is unlocking everything.
