Publisher Headup released Dead Age 2 today. The sequel is a follow-up to the survival role-playing game (RPG) of 2016 with over 3000 positive reviews on Steam.

In the latest iteration of this crafty apocalyptic title, people can expect a brand new open world, with dozens of locations, as well as different endings to the narrative. Multiple factions inhabit the world, which will either be friendly or hostile, depending on player choices. It's possible to take on faction specific quests, which contributes to a reputation system.

Additionally, Dead Age 2 also comes with base building, as is the custom these days. The team of survivors in the camp can be assigned different roles, to either focus on improving life or upgrading items. An updated combat system, which operates in a turn-based system, allows for more strategic positioning. There are also random events, which will unfold in 3D.

Dead Age 2 comes from developer Silent Dreams, who previously worked on strategy indie darling, Grotesque Tactics. This survival game plays it a little more on the straight end, as opposed to the humorous tactics game. Still, the company has a standing pedigree when it comes to accessible gameplay depth. Dead Age has more in common with harsh titles like This War of Mine or State of Decay.

Dead Age 2 costs €17.99 on PC platforms. Returning players who own the first game can claim a 10% discount, on top of the current launch discount of 10%.
