Simon the Sorcerer - Origins Returns After a Three-Decade Absence

Simon the Sorcerer - Origins, the prequel to the original Simon the Sorcerer point and click adventure, is presently being developed for PC and consoles by publisher Leonardo Interactive and developer Smallthing Studios. This iconic adventure game series has been enjoyed by Simon the Sorcerer fans for over three decades, and now, with the release of Origins, a new take on the series is on the way.

Its introduction on MS-DOS and Amiga computers about 30 years ago paved the way for many of the point-and-click visual adventures that have entertained fans for nearly three decades. Simon the Sorcerer - Origins will appeal to long-time fans of the series as well as to a new generation of gamers enthused by the current resurgence of these iconic properties thanks to its use of cutting-edge graphics and gameplay features. Here's a first peek at the first Simon the Sorcerer: Origins trailer.

Players will be sent back in time a few weeks before the first episode's events in Simon the Sorcerer - Origins, the game's prequel. It's a contemporary graphic style with seamless real-time scenes, magic, and puzzle-solving woven together with a captivating plot that finally answers some of the main points asked by fans from the original game.

In Leonardo Interactive creator Leonardo Caltagirone's words, "We are beyond pleased to finally be able to reveal Simon the Sorcerer - Origins and begin on the exciting development path with Smallthing Studios. Bringing back one of the game industry's most beloved and famous characters has been a long-term goal of ours. To depict Simon's genesis narrative, we want to construct a whole new environment with cutting-edge graphics and brand-new gameplay elements."

You can expect more details on this interesting prequel from Leonardo Interactive and Smallthing Studios soon. Origins of Simon the Sorcerer - PC and console versions are expected to be released in early 2023.
