THQ Nordic Acquires Saints Row Publisher Koch Media
THQ Nordic grows
News by Grayshadow on Feb 15, 2018
Today THQ Nordic has announced that they've acquired Deep Silver's parent company Koch Media for 121 million euros.
The company has had a rough patch lately with the Saints Row-inspired Agents of Mayhem and Homefront: The Revolution failing to meet sales goals and receiving poor reviews. With this deal all of Deep Silver’s titles and developers including Volition, the studio behind Saints Row and Deep Silver’s exclusive rights to the Metro games developed by 4A, which has Metro Exodus coming out this year.
THQ Nordic has established in a press release that they will not be reconstructing Deep Silver and Koch Media will be able to operate independently under THQ Nordic. However, the company will be "closely monitor and delegate resources" to Koch's games business.
In addition to Metro Exodus Deep Silver has other titles in development such as the long-awaited Shenmue 3 and Dead Island 2.
