Yooka-Laylee Returns for Another Adventure in Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair

2017's Yooka-Laylee launched to mixed reception. Many felt that the collection focused gameplay was dated but many praised the cartoonish graphics and colorful environments. Team17 and Playtonic is bringing back the duo for another adventure, featuring 2.5D levels and an explorable 3D overworld, with Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.

The trailer provides a great array of levels, characters, and what players can expect from the game. It seems instead of focusing on collecting items this game will feature a more traditional level design. Having the player go from A to B while solving puzzles and completing platforming challenges.

The graphics and animations look crisp with that cartoonish art style which is why many gravitated to the original game.

Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One this year.
