Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the biggest games coming out this generation and with the game less than a year away, CD Projekt RED has been providing a drip feed of new information about the title. Revealing a hardcore mode that will allow players to disable the UI.
During an interview with Wccftech, Alvin Liu, the UI coordinator for CD Projekt RED, shared information about the new optional mode.
“The most fun [difficulty setting] I think will be the Hardcore setting where we turn off the UI you live as well,” Liu said. “And that will be a real challenge for a lot of players. Also, at the same time, if you want to play more casually for the story and maybe you’re not experienced with shooters, which was a real big concern for us. We want to tell a story and maybe you’re a big fan of The Witcher and you’re not comfortable playing a shooter, we have settings available for that. We even have weapons for that. If you recall from last year’s demo, we had a weapon called the smart gun, which helps you aim. The bullets were much slower and usually a bit weaker. But if your aiming isn’t your forte, you can always pick up the smart gun.”
This will definitely make things much more challenging. Anyone who has played a FPS knows how paramount the UI is in tracking ammo, health, and other essential stats within battle. Considering how challenging Dark mode was in The Witcher games this will provide players looking for a challenge.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020, and a lore book is set to launch the same month. I had the chance to see Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019and stated "the behind-the-scenes footage of Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019 and it solidifies the notion that CD Projekt RED may release another masterpiece."
If you want more CD Projekt RED games, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will launch for the Nintendo Switch this year.
