Borderlands 2 Has Passed 22 Million Copies Sold Worldwide

Borderlands 2 was one of Gearbox Software's most popular games. Now, according to GamesIndustry.biz, has passed 22 million copies sold worldwide.

The news was shared during a financial call by publisher Take-Two Interactive. This likely also includes the remake in Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection which includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-sequel. 

Recently, Gearbox and Take-Two Interactive released the DLC expansion, Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary that serves as a prequel to Borderlands 3. It was available for free at launch but now cost $14.99.

Borderlands 2 is now available for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Borderlands 3 launches this September 13th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
