CD Projekt RED Seeking to Match Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 in Quality

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the anticipated games this generation, especially coming off the massive success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The early demo provided gave gamers a glimpse of what is expected however, Red Dead Redemption 2 just released and set a new standard for open-world games. With the on their mind, CD Projekt RED is seeking to match the quality of Rockstar's masterpiece.

In a recent earnings call to investors, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam KiciÅ„ski was asked about Cyberpunk 2077‘s quality, particularly in comparison to the recent Red Dead Redemption 2, which launched to incredibly overwhelming critical acclaim.

“Well, with The Witcher 3 the bugs took around 3 months to patch out after the release – from what I can remember – and the prevailing view seems to be that Red Dead Redemption was good enough on the day of release to merit that 97/100 score. Do you expect to be able to release Cyberpunk in a good enough state to score at least 95 points, or do you prioritize your release schedule?”

We'll have to wait and see if CD Projekt RED can pull this off.

Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available for Xbox One and PS4.
