Dead Space 2 Sold 4 Million Copies, Still Considered Sales Disappointment

One of the best survival-horror games ever made, Dead Space 2, considered failure

With the closure of Visceral Games, many fans are looking back on premiere studio with positive memories. Unfortunately, although the studio was charged with developing a Star Wars game the underperformance of their previous games led to the studio's demise. Many remember the studio for the Dead Space franchise and former Visceral team member, Zach Wilson, Dead Space 2, one of the best survival-horror games ever made, was considered a failure.

The game sold 4 million copies but the budget was 60 million. EA and Visceral would go on to make Dead Space 3 which is widely considered the poorest game in the core series because of its focus on action and cooperative gameplay.

EA still owns the rights to Dead Space and could ask another studio to create Dead Space 4. However, it's much more likely it'll be put into the same category as Crysis and Mass Effect.
