Dying Light Switch Behind-the-Scenes Video Released
How Techland made Dying Light work on the Switch
News by Grayshadow on Oct 25, 2021
Let's face it, despite its popularity the Switch is not a powerful system. Most developers rely on the Cloud to release more powerful games for the system or pull back a lot on resolution and performance. Dying Light is a rare example of a large title working well on the Switch despite the massive demand. With Techland giving an idea of how they accomplished this feat.
“We are more than happy with the initial reception of Dying Light Platinum Edition for the Nintendo Switch and we are grateful for everyone’s kind words. The feedback received so far clearly confirms that our joint efforts have resulted in one of the best ports on Switch platform, delivering immersive and stable gameplay for both handheld and docked modes. Nevertheless, we are committed to fixing any issues raised so far (e.g. frame rate cap) and improving the performance and quality so stay tuned!” said Piotr Chrzanowski, Head of Technology at Techland.
The Platinum Edition includes every piece of DLC released for Dying Light. This is the best time to catch up before Dying Light 2 launches in February.
Dying Light is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
