PlayStation Partners To Get PS5 Development Kits
Indie studios to get development kits to help them create PlayStation 5 games.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that they will soon be making it easier for independent developers to create games for the PlayStation 5.
They will be making PlayStation 5 development kits and testing kits available through the Development Hardware Loan Program. Sony has been growing its PlayStation Indies label in recent years, showcasing more and more titles from small studios at big events such as State of Play and E3. They even dedicated an entire day to highlighting "games of all shapes and sizes, filled with exciting ideas" on the PlayStation Blog on July 7th.
Sony hopes that this new initiative will "lower the barrier of entry and improve the process for publishing on PlayStation". On top of the chance to loan in PlayStation 5 development and testing kits, as a PlayStation Partner developers can self-publish on the PlayStation Store, utilize PlayStation's army of expert hardware developers, and take full advantage of the Sony marketing machine.
Partnered studios include Futurlab (PowerWash Simulator), Ember Studios (Kena: Bridge of Spirits), and BAFTA Games award winners HouseMarque (Returnal).
