Perhaps one of the most asked questions regarding GTA V was the supposed single-player content that was never released. However, Rockstar confirmed that resources for other projects were the blame.

Rockstar’s director of design Imran Sarwar, while talking to Game Informer, explains that although Rockstar loves single-player “more than anything,” GTA 5‘s single-player game “was absolutely massive and very, very complete. It was three games in one.” Not only did the next-gen versions of the game take “a year of everyone’s time to get right,” but because GTA Online had so much potential, developing the multiplayer side of things “also sucked up a lot of resources.”

This doesn't mean that Red Dead Redemption 2 was the only game, Sarwar confirmed that Rockstar has other games in development. This means that the team at Rockstar simply doesn't have the resources to dedicate time to both new projects and DLC but Sarwar did state that future single-player content for future projects is possible.

While the promised single-player content for GTA V is disappointing the loads of multiplayer content that Rockstar has delivered has appeased fans for years.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on Xbox One and PS4 Spring 2018. GTA V is now available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.
