Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer Unbroken have announced that their "delightfully evil roguelike RPG" Iratus: Lord of the Dead is set to launch on Steam Early Access later this month, on July 24th.

Instead of playing a knight in shining armor, Iratus: Lord of the Dead puts you in the shoes of an evil necromancer, freshly resurrected and hell bent on exacting vengeance on those who imprisoned him deep beneath the earth.

As expected from a necromancer, Iratus can "use the blood, guts, bones and souls of vanquished enemies to create monstrous pawns" and evolve his powers by investing into four different skill trees. Iratus: Lord of the Dead's turn-based combat emphasizes understanding your enemies weaknesses and using them to your advantage. Permadeath also plays a major role, affecting not only your minions, but also the enemies which happen to be the one source of body parts for growing your army.

You can wishlist and follow Iratus: Lord of the Dead on Steam.
