Many different secrets have been spilled by Nintendo in the latest Nintendo Direct. The release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion has already been announced by Square Enix in June during the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary livestream, but the details were kept hidden. Originally a Playstation Portable game, Crisis Core is confirmed to release on December 13 of this year. This means that if you are a fan, you better keep your Steam credits ready to go as you do not have much time!

Crisis Core: Reunion is going to be released on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC. As well as new information, the fans also got a glimpse of what the game is going to look like, thanks to new gameplay footage shown in the livestream. According to various fans, the game needed a remake as the combat was too outdated, which is actually expected from a game that was originally released in 2008. Video game graphics and mechanics have evolved a lot since then, and it is only fair that the prequel of Final Fantasy VII gets the same treatment as many other games in the series.

According to producer Yoshinori Kitase, the idea for the remake came when the team was already working on the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake. One of the most noticeable features of the remake seems to be the changes made in the combat system, which are welcomed with open arms by the fans. The combat is simplified and modernized to match the Final Fantasy VII combat system, and it looks seriously awesome.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will follow the story of Zack Fair, a character that Final Fantasy VII fans are already acquainted with. Players are going to help Zack as he dreams of being a First Class SOLDIER himself. His story shapes so many events in Final Fantasy VII, so the fans might want to check this game out when it comes out.
