Online retail goliath Amazon is bringing Black Friday, the American tradition of offering consumers dramatic discounts on their goods the Friday following Thanksgiving, is being extended to the United Kingdom.
The offer will stretch over a five day period, where prices will be slashed on a number of electronics, including the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony TVs, with some seeing up to sixty-percent off.
"Amazon is always looking to offer exceptional value for money, especially in the run up to Christmas, and will replicate that activity for the benefit of all customers here in the UK. The deals will come thick and fast so customers are advised to check back regularly for significant discounts on items across all product categories," said Brian McBride, managing director, Amazon.co.uk.
So when exactly is Black Friday?
Black falls on the last Friday of November, which happens to be the 26th this year. However, the online sale will begin Monday 22nd November for us Brits, meaning the entire working week will be littered with amazing deals.
Don’t be late to the party though, as many offers will be made available as part of ‘Lightning Deals’ that will have set quantity and time limits, and once those have been reached, the 'Lightning Deal' will end.
Amazon said web users can keep track of all the deals by visiting the online retailer's dedicated Black Friday
web page or by following its
Facebook page or
Twitter feed.
