2009 highlights and 2010 resolutions

For those who knows me for a while, via GS, you know that I usually don't blog about personal things. I tend to distract my attention to blogs about games and other things related to the videogame industry. Sure I blogged about my personal lfe in the past, but just because you know all about me, there's no need to say it again. What you are about to read might have something related to my personal life, I suggest reading it because it might be the last time. I'll start by sharing what I did both personal/noobfeed related. It were 12 months that nothing changed in my personal life but regarding my virtual life it sure changed a few things.
January - Nothing better than to start the year with some bad news: my 40GB PS3 dies with just one year old. As an avid gamer it wasn't great to see that my main gaming toy dies. Besides, it's strange because my 'now' 8 years old PS2 is still alive and kicking. I also got a 'promotion', instead of teaching only musical instrument, I became a musical and technical teacher. At start it wasn't very nice because I wasn't used to be with 10-15 students at the same time, but with time I did managed to get used to it.
February - While I was waiting for my PS3 to repair I played Warhawk, and believe it or not, I enjoyed a lot. Online game only, and very hard to get used to the controls. I was getting owned all the time because I?m not very good with planes but earth combat I was pretty good. I also decided to join NoobFeed.com after receiving an email 2-3 before. I was a litle septical at start because I wasn't sure this would work. Probably because I still had in GameSpot a place for my gaming education.
March - One of me most important months for me because I decided to become active here. Providing feedback here and there, searching for bugs, suggesting ideas and a few more things. Mainly because I wanted to get used to the community and only a few knew me.
April - NoobFeed became part of my life because I decided 'after being invited' the noobfeed writers team. Finally I received some recognition that in the other site was null. I had a few reviews, editorials that I decided to publish here. It was also akward to see my real name in the end.
May - Became addicted to noobfeed. I also wanted to become a popular user here and I had the chance because of the friendly community. Speaking of community, I had some experience in the other site and I knew most everything about the site. Leveling up, emblems wasn't to start to find out the correct way. Finally, I got a new 80GB PS3 with...Killzone 2. It was also this month that I got a strange love for trophies/platinums. I mean, sometimes they are boring to unlocked but if you like it, it's great!!
June - My Normal moderator promotion. I wasn't that shocked because I knew that I was going to be recognized as a responsable member. I mean, at GS, they seem to forget my profile url. At NF, they know who you are. Admins/Mods posts at the forums. We don't bite! It was my first moderator experience and I'm glad about being part of the team. Also, it was my very first big coverage for the site: E3 2009 with 3 articles.
July - Summer arrived and with that the end of school, overall...not bad. Just kept teaching and doing some personal projects related to instrumental music. Also, I was promoted to Super Moderated here. More responsabilty but more power, just kidding.
August - Started to post more often in the forums. I also tend to disappear when a great game comes out...but, I'm always here because as a co-editor I do have my duties. The site was becoming part of my daily life and I started to see it growing. And I was proud to be a part of it.
September - Always looking for new ways to make NoobFeed bigger, posted some useful threads and believe it or not, they are still alive. About my gaming life, everything was perfect by now: played some older games and discovered that they are still great.
October - Uncharted 2=MIA. MIA stands for Missing in action and no it isn't a Chuck Norris movie.
November - Look above.
December - Another important month for me and for NoobFeed.com. Time for the first big feature: Game of the Year 2009. I was really looking forward to it. In the end it wasn't perfect but overall it wasn't that bad. Received some positive feedback and I felt really happy about it. It was also my birthday, received a few gifts and became one year older. My platinum hunt was getting better than ever. Ended the year with 15 platinums. I also entered the new year with a cold. I must rewind the time machine to the last century because it was the last time that I got a cold.
2010 - NoobFeed grows once more. New features, more members, views and more writers. A big sign of changes made the site more user friendly and right now I think that the basics are here. It might be missing a few things but I'm totally confident about the devs.
I don't make plans for the new year anymore but this one I had to: Ended the year with 15 platinums and set a new target: 30 platinums by December 2010. Impossible? No. Time consuming: Yes. I already got two: SOCOM: Confrontation and Modern Warfare 2.
Future plans for NF:
- Community blogs - I need to get back on those. I did 2-3 but I don't know why I stopped. Feel free to PM with some interesting blogs, reviews, threads, etc. Probably, you'll get a mention in the next CB. Cheers!
