The countdown has begun, it's only 52 weeks before the 19th edition of the FIFA World Cup kicks off in South Africa! Making it even more special is the fact that this will be the first time any nation of the Confederation of African Football will host this event.
Matches will be played in 10 different stadiums in 10 major cities of South Africa, officially announced by FIFA on March 17, 2006.
Here's a list of the 9 major cities and the 10 stadiums matches will be played in:
Bloemfontein - Free State Stadium
Cape Town - Green Point Stadium (under construction) (My home town)
Durban - Moses Mabhida Stadium
Johannesburg - Coca-Cola Park (being upgraded)
Nelspruit - Mbombela Stadium (under construction)
Polokwane - Peter Mokaba Stadium (under construction)
Pretoria - Loftus Versfeld Stadium
Port Elizabeth - Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
Rustenburg - Royal Bafokeng Stadium (being upgraded)
