A Fallout 3 Story: Crowley

General by Systech on  Feb 15, 2009

Earlier today I was running around the Wasteland just out of Rivet City to get to the Jefferson Memorial (haven't discovered in this character) for my next objective on finding my father. On the road where you can visually see one of the stautes holding a ring, I notice a man with power armor running up the hill appearing to stop at Rivet City. As he moved closer, I could tell that it was actually a ghoul. A ghoul by the name of "Mister Crowley". I had remembered Crowley as the man who gave me the "You Gotta Shoot Them In The Head" quest and he had jetted off to Fort Constantine right after I completed it. I didn't assume that I would be meeting up with him for a second time, though--and unfortunately, his last. Naturally I start a conversation with him. He goes on about how awesome his new Power Armor was. I thought so, too.

I had remembered someone telling me that "once you finished 'You Gotta Shoot Them In The Head,' that you can go over to Fort Constantine and confront Crowley, winning the fantastic prize for yourself." The downside was that I forgot to ask him and the people that I was presumably killing where the Fort exactly was, got lost for a while and gave up. I figured that when I was at a higher level that I would go back and fulfill my mission, but when I finally got there, Mister C was nowhere to be found until now; about 4 levels later.

I decided that now was not the best time to engage in a fight with him so I came to the conclusion to follow him instead. It wasn't very long until we were faced with Talon Company Mercs around the corner near the Metro Station that were attempting to retrieve the reward for my bounty. I engage in a fight with the Mercs and lost about half my health, but somehow I got really into the fight and forgot to keep track of Mister Crowley. I look around the corner and see that he is running away from three Supermutants: two Brutes and one regular. Mister Crowley's fighting logic was asstounding as he ran around in circles getting thumped with a couple of Sledgehammers and shot by a Hunting Rifle. In about 7 seconds, Crowley was dead and the Supermutants couldn't contain themselves. This was a Win-Win-Lose-Lose situation for everyone involved: I got some badass Power Armor and there were Mutants that won't go hungry, but Crowley died for nothing and the Talon Company Mercs still don't have my ass mounted to the wall.

Now if only I can get everyone in Rivet City to jump ship...
