Drakelings are among the most unique and visually impressive creatures introduced in Ragnarok for ARK: Survival Ascended. They come in four seasonal variants: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
While they can be found across the map, each variant most commonly appears in a biome that reflects its respective season. Winter Drakelings are found in snowy regions, Spring Drakelings in grassy zones, Summer Drakelings in desert environments, and Autumn Drakelings in mountainous terrain.

Preparing to Tame a Drakeling
Taming a Drakeling is straightforward once the mechanics are understood. These creatures can be slightly aggressive, so ensure nearby threats are cleared before making an approach.
Once a Drakeling is spotted and targeted for taming, simply hold a Torch. The Drakeling will approach and perch on the shoulder, initiating the taming sequence. A taming bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Taming Tasks and Feeding Process
To progress the taming bar, complete the prompted tasks. These include harvesting resources, crafting an item, or killing a creature.
The required food for taming should be placed in the final slot of the hot bar. Once the bar is filled, a prompt will appear, allowing you to feed the Drakeling.
The preferred food is Exceptional Kibble, though Raw Meat, Prime Meat, and Mutton are also acceptable. Be aware of the timer during this process. If the timer expires, the Drakeling will dismount, and the process must be restarted.
Drakeling Modes and Special Buffs
Once tamed, a Drakeling can be equipped either on the shoulder or in hand mode. Switching to hand mode is done by using the item that appears in the inventory after picking up the Drakeling.
Each Drakeling provides a unique buff depending on its seasonal type. These buffs can be viewed under the buffs tab in the inventory.

Combat Abilities and XP Sharing
In hand mode, each Drakeling has a distinct breath attack. They also have the ability to share XP with other creatures.
As battles are fought with the Drakeling either on the shoulder or in hand mode, XP is accumulated and can be transferred to larger creatures, with bigger creatures receiving more XP.
This XP can be used to generate keys that unlock valuable loot, including Kibble, resources, BPs, and even Tech items, all obtainable without boosted rates.

Parachute Mode and Breeding
Holding down R on PC turns on the Parachute Mode, which is an extra feature. This mode removes all fall damage, no matter how high you fall. It's a useful safety tool for exploring or fighting.
Drakelings can breed in a variety of seasonal conditions. With this crossbreeding feature, you can make your ARK experience even more strategic and unique.
