Brutal Legend: Preview

Brütal Legend, a game taking place in a mythical world, where massive metal titans roam the lands and terrorize the inhabitants. Your hero, Eddie Riggs (voiced by Jack Black), is on a quest to form one of the largest armies of rockers the world has ever seen. To aid him in this quest is a broad axe, big block V8, and his beloved guitar. When Eddie enters this mythical world and meets the tormented people of the lands, they ask for his aid. Looking back on all of the experience he’s ever had, he decides to draw on his ones as a metal rock band roadie, taking this ability and using it as a full-on warfare style.

The game is extreme, the weapons and fight style give the game the look and feel of a button smasher. The creativity of the producers and the ideas of the writers seem to merge in well with each other to produce spectacular monsters. The demon spawn, in which Eddie must obliterate with his mighty axe, almost have a horror-esque side to them. The game looks stimulatingly epic; you only have to take a gander at the hundreds of trailers out there in honour of the game.

The creator, Tim Schafer, was giddy at the prospect of making a game like this. He was quoted as saying “The moral of the story is that Brutal Legend is going to be the best f***ing game you have ever played… Please be patient, though. It's going to take us a little while to gather up every single piece of awesome there is in the world and put it in this game." With such a dramatic statement it’s clear that the team feel passionately about what they’re doing and feel they have something extraordinary to unleash upon the gaming industry.

Sadly, no official launch date has been stated, but get ready for this game… it may just blow your mind.
