Chapter 19

Awakening of the Heart

Who the hell was that? Her lips, they were so soft… He hands so gentle. I mean really who, was she? Her kiss melted me; I entered some kind of world, as if there was nothing to worry about, no war, ruling, magick, problems, nothing. It was simple and safe. Maybe someone knows something about her. I could ask the Castle keeper who she is.

Sarwar walked along the halls, still in a daze from his encounter. He couldn’t get her out of his head, and even when someone noticed him walking by, they could tell that he had something on his mind. I was that obvious.  As he walked he made random turns, not even sure where he was going. As he drifted he started to go deeper in to the Castle, areas he’d long forgotten about, and areas that, well no one should really enter.

After a while his haze started to left, but he kept going on deeper. Soon he entered an area were there where no more windows, the sun now unable to touch the dark corners of these rooms. Not only was there a lack of sun, but also a lack of people. No one was around him. It was an interesting thing really; there weren’t many areas he hadn’t been to yet. As he walked He noticed a staircase heading down a level. That was troubling. Sarwar was on the first floor, and never had a basement or lower area built. How could something like this be added in to his building, without him know? Better yet, what’s down there? The only way for Sarwar to find out is to head down.

As he approached the stairs railing he could feel something trying to stop him from going down. He pressed a bit but still it kept him from moving on. In annoyance he pressed both hands on the nonexistent wall and pushed, nothing, just a wall that he couldn’t see, keeping him from what was down bellow. He sighed and slouched down and put his head in his hands. It was too much. Everything was happened at once and he can’t handle it. At least Ricardo has Alessandra to help him get past this. But he has no one, at least, no one that he can hold close to his heart. Sarwar looked up at the wall opposite of the stairs, trying to figure this out.

                Then someone giggled.

Sarwar stood up quickly and readied himself. He turned to the source of the sound and there she was. Stand there, her brown locks taunting him, those eyes, looking right in to the depths of his soul. It was both intoxicating and infuriating. How someone could tease him, but still get unknown to him. It was hard to bare.

“Who are you?”

“A maid.”

“You know ever well what I meant by that question. Answer it.”

“My name is Borna. Pleased to meet you my liege. Your kiss was oh so sweet.”

Sarwar stepped back a moment. Borna, why did that name sound so familiar? Her father never introduced her to him at the banquet, yet her name was ringing in his ears and red flags were flaring in every corner of his mind. Borna, god damn it, were did he hear that name before. As he looked at her, asking himself all this, she walked towards him, the smile not fading, and the grace of her footsteps still light and soft as she pressed to the ground.

“How did you get down here? Were you following me?”

“Yes, Lord Sarwar. I knew you’d come here someday. It was only time.”

“So you know something about this staircase? About the wall keeping me from heading down?”

“I do, and I’m here to help you understand what it all is. My name is Borna, Borna Naidraug.”

“Naidraug… Guardian… You’re my angel?”

“Your quick, but no I’m not your angel, I’m what your heart truly desires. I’m what you’ve always wanted. My mind was dormant in the body of this girl for years. She was a lost soul; her only purpose was to keep this body alive and pure, until the day came for me to be awakened. That time has come. When you unlocked a part of your bracer, you also woke me up. I am here to guide you, and love you.”

She smiled and ripped the maids dress clean off her body. Beneath it, was the most elegant silks Sarwar had ever seen. The colors, blue and black, complemented each other so well, and the way every curve of her body was perfectly in balance with their footsteps took his breath. She walked towards him, her arms out, and her eyes shining brighter than before. His bracer shone as she approached him. The sapphire emitting a cool gust around him, lifting him ever so slightly off the ground, guiding him to her arms. He could smell the sweetness of her presence, and feel the power that lay before him. This was everything that he could have possible asked for, everything that he could want. His heart was racing, and his vision started to blur. As her arms wrapped around him, he could feel a completion within himself. She held his head to her breast, gently humming.

“Let’s return to your room, it’s late, we can deal with this tomorrow.”

Everything then turned to a blur of actions. Hours later, as the sun climbed the sky and sent its rays in to this room, covering him in it. He started to stir in his bed. He felt something warm next to him. Still groggy he rubbed his eyes to get a good look at what is was. There she was, Brona, her chest rising and falling with every breath. Sarwar sat up a bit and looked around. His clothing, her clothing was all around the foot of his bed. A sense of relief and realization came over him, and with it he pulled her naked body in to his arms, were she now slept soundly, as he held her close to his heart.

Today was a start, of the rebellions.
