Cyberpunk

While I have given you cryptic blogs about my book I figured I could tell you a bit more about another as yet incomplete work based off thegenre that is Cyberpunk. The other book is too complex with out about ten A4 pages in the least just to explain the basics of the plot.

Set in the near future the oceans of the Earth have risen and wiped several nations out, with the exception of four nations who decided it would be cheaper to use technology to save set allotments of land to keep the water out instead of using cleaner energy. Global warming had been sped up {cue conspiracy} beyond anything scientist's believed possible and now we are paying the price in concrete and steel monstrosities where freedom is suppressed with the exception of LZ Sectors. Crime is high and a group is running amok blowing up corporations.

This story tells of a very dark future that could happen. The whole point of the Cyberpunk genre is to predict a possible future for humanity based on what is happening today with the mass advancement of technology put into the extreme. I watch 4 news programmes a night to absorb information to use and shape the future story of my book and while I don't see some of the Sci-fi happening, the book touches on some very key points in today's society and the freedoms we are willing to give up for protection or out of fear.

I'm still undecided on the whole global warming debate thing {open mind} but it makes for a good plot element.

If you are under 15 this book will not be for you. It contains 95% of the ratings for books.
