In Death Howl, you move through spirit regions where every action affects your progress. You collect materials, craft cards, and form decks that act as your tools in combat. Each way lets you decide how and when to fight enemies, how to use your resources, and how to prepare for the next fight.

Resources Crafting Cards
As you explore these grounds, you find plants and animals that you can collect. These materials let you craft cards, which you use to assemble decks for combat.
While moving through the realm, you also discover Shamanic Totems tied to your family line. Activating these Totems opens new options that shape your approach to future fights in Death Howl.
Combat and Tactical Play
You learn more about how your enemies move and attack each time you see them. You limit the counterattacks you get, study their patterns, and put yourself in a position to make hits.

Your turn is controlled by Mana, which you divide between movement and playing cards. Each choice decides how the fight continues and whether you advance or fall.
Using Death Howls
Your primary currency, Death Howls, comes from defeating enemies in the spirit realm. At Sacred Groves, you convert Death Howls into Teardrop Points, which unlock skills for use in battle.
You can also gain Teardrop Points from Nests found across the maps, though groups of elite spirits guard many Nests in Death Howl.

Currency and Progress
Death Howls are also used to craft cards, so you decide when to fight and when to move on. As you travel through each biome, you choose encounters based on how close you are to the nearest Sacred Grove.
These Groves restore your health and act as checkpoints you can teleport to from any map. Resting at a Grove brings back all defeated enemies. With this, you can go back to earlier fights and get more Death Howls to make your cards better.

Enemy Variety
There are more than thirty different kinds of enemies in the Realm. They all have various patterns that you need to learn. You learn how they act through repeated encounters and use that information in future fights. In Death Howl, this affects both how you build your deck and how you plan your way through the realm.
