Here’s a guide on how to craft the best Cards in Death Howl.

After defeating an Elder Spirit, you gain access to crafting materials and Death Howls that allow you to create new Cards. Crafting plays a central role in shaping how you approach encounters.

Craft Whenever Available
You should craft a card whenever you have the option, even if it does not match your current deck. New craftable Cards unlock often, usually after completing encounters.
A card crafted earlier can later interact with cards or mechanics unlocked much later. By crafting consistently, you expand your available options and allow future synergies to become possible without relying on chance.

Managing Crafting Materials
When you see a Card you want but can't craft, check what you need to craft it. If the materials are easy to find, look at the world map by following the path edges in Death Howl.
This approach often yields material pickups that meet crafting requirements. If the materials remain unavailable, you should select another card that still supports your current needs rather than holding resources indefinitely.
Deck Limitations
Your crafting decisions should respond to issues you face in combat. If enemies take too long to defeat, you should choose cards that deal damage. If you spend mana repositioning to reach spirits, you should craft cards that provide range or movement.
If your hands lack usable options, you should select cards that improve card draw. Some later Cards allow you to draw cards while reducing their mana cost, which helps maintain tempo during encounters in Death Howl.

Using Card Synergies
Synergy-focused Cards become relevant as your deck grows. Some cards deal damage based on your current Block stacks, while others increase damage when you have active damage buffs. These mechanics reward planning and structure within your deck.
Even if a synergy is not active when you craft the card, having it available allows you to build toward interactions that become usable in later encounters in Death Howl.
