Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Guide | How To Beat Mysterious Man

This guide details how to overcome the Mysterious Man boss fight in Death Stranding 2, providing clear tactical advice for each phase of the encounter. 

By following these strategies, you'll maximize your damage output while minimizing risk—even if you enter the fight with limited resources.

Preparation and Initial Loadout

Go into the building on the left side of the arena to begin the task. You can add to your weapons with the extra guns and healing bags inside. If you get these things before the fight, you'll have enough guns and healing items to get through the later rounds.

Phase One: Vantage Point on the Roof

Once equipped, ascend to the roof overlooking the battleground. From this elevated position, it's easier to maintain distance and pick off weaker enemies as they scatter. 

Focus fire on the Mysterious Man whenever possible—defeating him early causes all additional foes to vanish, simplifying the encounter. 

If enemies stray too close, a well-timed jump onto the small bridge provides cover without incurring fall damage (though it may upset Lou), allowing continuous assault on the boss.

Phase Two: Teleportation to the Church

Once the Mysterious Man has lost some strength, he will teleport to the church building. Move quickly to this new spot to keep the pressure on him. 

At this point, please move to a shotgun, which does enough damage in a short amount of time to get through his defenses in tight spaces. Sparingly use any leftover Grenades and save them for the end of the fight.

Final Phases and Weapon Recommendations

As the Mysterious Man cycles through several more teleportation phases, he becomes harder to track. Maintain mobility, using the Shotgun or an AR for medium-range engagements. 

Save the last of your Grenades for when the boss is exposed at the end of the fight. With sustained fire and strategic use of explosives, the Mysterious Man will fall, rewarding you for patience and precise targeting.
