Fast travel in Echoes of Aincrad is tied directly to checkpoints. To move between locations, you first need to unlock each checkpoint on the map as you make your way through the world.

Unlocking and Using Checkpoints

Once a checkpoint is unlocked, you're able to travel between it and any other unlocked checkpoint. There's a catch though: you have to physically be standing at a checkpoint to teleport anywhere else. You can't just open a menu from anywhere on the map and warp instantly.

Returning While Exploring

While you're out exploring the overworld, you're only able to return to your most recently used checkpoint, unless you're already standing at a checkpoint itself. When you arrive at a checkpoint, interact with it and switch from rest to teleport to fast travel.
