Elden Ring Nightreign Guide | Best Way To Play Solo
This guide details everything you should know if you want to complete the expeditions solo in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Game Guide by Ornstein on Jun 07, 2025
This guide helps you tackle Elden Ring Nightreign solo. It outlines a repeatable method that remains effective even if mistakes are made in leveling or gameplay, allowing completion at Level 11.
By consistently following the steps, you will increase your chances of survival and success without making things too hard.
Picking Iron Eye
If you want to play the game by yourself, choose Ironeye as your starting class. Because of how it's made, you can skip normal progression steps by focusing on churches and grand churches to get the most Flask charges.
After entering the game world, prioritize visiting a nearby fort instead of immediately attacking a grand church. Defeat the boss within the fort and clear surrounding trash mobs to earn runes. Use those runes to level up before proceeding further.
Early Build: Damage Negation
Once the first fort boss is defeated, begin allocating stats toward damage negation. Every time you take damage, Ironeye's damage negation ability activates, and later abilities trigger when dealing damage as well.
Additional damage negation bonuses activate when at low HP. By stacking damage negation on hit, on damage taken, and at low HP, survivability increases substantially. After establishing this foundation, return to a church to gather more Flask charges before moving on.
Progressing Through Churches and Fights
After restocking Flask charges, head to a grand church to face a boss, earn runes, and obtain an upgrade. Be aware that Ironeye struggles against shielded enemies, as shield-breaking tools are limited early on.
When encountering these foes, circle and wait for their guard to drop before landing heavy hits. Instead of hitting their shields over and over, which wastes time, clear out smaller camps or ruins that are appropriate for your level. These give you experience and may drop valuable items.
Dealing with Shielded Enemies
Shielded enemies present a significant challenge. Learn to bait shield raises by feinting attacks, then dodge their counters. By circling and waiting for shield recovery animations, opportunities to land a powerful strike will appear.
If an attack is blocked, immediately back off instead of over-committing. Adopting this cautious approach will conserve stamina and prevent unnecessary damage.
Day One: End Boss Strategy
Upon reaching the Day One end boss, a higher level than the initial playthrough ensures a sizable stamina pool. Use that stamina to kite the boss while firing ranged attacks when openings appear.
Never overcommit—maintain distance and wait for attack animations to finish before closing in. Apply a weakness mark, then follow up with a single powerful shot to deal critical damage. Repeat this method until the boss is defeated.
Day Two: Camps, Chests, and Enhancements
On Day Two, focus on camps and chests rather than clearing every enemy. Prioritize opening chests to obtain gear that further boosts damage negation. Continue visiting churches to accumulate Flask charges.
Commit to fighting all marked bosses, including field bosses, ruins bosses, and map-marked bosses. Each victory yields enough runes to level up, provided previous runs did not waste resources.
Monitor the area for scarabs as they drop valuable enhancements—one scarab provided an item that increased the damage range by 15%, which synergizes well with a damage-negation build.
Final Boss of Day Two
By the time the Day Two final boss is reached, stamina will be high, and previous boss strategies apply: dodge attacks, maintain distance, and wait for openings to strike.
When the boss commits to an attack, close in and deal damage during the recovery window; after defeating this boss, claim the Glint Sorcery reward before proceeding to the actual final encounter.
Preparing for the True Final Boss
After a single defeat against the true final boss, Grace resurrects the player. Spend runes to reach at least Level 13 before attempting this fight. The actual final boss wields three primary attacks: a lunging strike, a chained combo, and a fire breath. For the lunging strike, dodge to the side, then counterattack.
Against the chained combo, create distance until the boss pauses, then close in for damage. When facing the fire, breathe, sidestep, or run around to avoid its cone and strike during the recovery phase.
Always apply the weakness mark as the boss lunges, and use Glint Sorcery to inflict ranged damage. When the boss staggers, unleash all powerful shots to secure victory.
