Elden Ring Nightreign Guide | How To Play Ironeye

A guide on how to play Ironeye in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Game Guide by Groot on  Jun 02, 2025

Ironeye is arguably the single best Nightfarer in Elden Ring Nightreign. This bow-focused character has received massive improvements that make him extremely viable as a primary option.

With his unique faster bow moveset, powerful marking ability, and excellent damage output, Ironeye can deal incredible damage while maintaining a safe distance from enemies.

His kit is built around bow combat, making him perfect for players who want to dominate from range while still having strong utility and team support capabilities.

Bow Changes and Improvements

Bows have been completely overhauled in Night Rain. They now have unlimited ammunition, so you can spam arrows continuously.

The targeting has insane magnetism - you can aim in the general direction and still hit your target.

Bows can now perform critical attacks and have been streamlined into one category instead of light and medium variants.

With Ironeye, you get a much faster bow moveset with no damage trade-off. You can spam decent-damaging arrows from a safe distance. Just be aware of the damage fall-off at longer ranges. Great bows don't get the special moveset, so stick with regular bows.

Character Stats and Scaling

Ironeye has poor health scaling and no reason to use spells, but excellent stamina and dexterity scaling. While curve swords and katanas work well with his stats, you should focus on bow combat since that's where he excels.

The Executor might have better raw damage, but Ironeye's faster bow moveset outputs much higher DPS.

Ironeye also has decent arcane scaling, which helps with status-effect arrows and the serpent bow when you find them. His passive skill, Eagleeye, increases loot drops from enemies and chests for your entire team, making rare items easier to find.

Marking Skill - Your Main Tool

This is one of the best skills in the game. Marking is a lunging attack that does great sword-level damage, covers good distance, and staggers enemies well. It has two incredible features:

First, it provides i-frames during the long animation, letting you escape dangerous situations easily.

Second, it applies a debuff that makes enemies take 10% more damage for 15 seconds. With a 10-second cooldown, you can keep this debuff active almost constantly.

When you deal enough damage, the mark breaks and causes a massive chunk of damage similar to bleed.

This also deals insane stance and stagger damage, sometimes knocking enemies to the ground. You can stance-break enemies as effectively as strength builds while staying at range.

Ultimate: Singleshot

Singleshot is an amazing AoE shockwave projectile that can be fired instantly or charged for better aiming. It covers a wide area, goes through walls, shields, and enemies, and temporarily staggers targets.

It deals more damage than Guardian and Radar ultimates and twice as much as Wilder's ultimate if you mark the enemy first.

Best Relics to Use

Character-Specific Relics:

Extra marking skill charge - gives you another powerful dodge and damage opportunity.

Extended debuff duration - increases mark duration from 15 to 20 seconds

Poison on charged ultimate - almost every boss gets poisoned in one hit

Counterattack damage boost after ultimate - increases piercing damage by 30% for 30 seconds

General Relics:

Weapon switching relic - doubles your damage by switching between bows safely at range.

Rain of Arrows starter relic - guarantees this powerful skill that melts large bosses.

Basic cooldown, health, and bow damage buffs

Recommended Buffs and Talismans

Keep ranged weapon damage buffs in your inventory (they work without equipping). Use counterattack damage buffs, Spear Talisman, Arrow Sting Talisman, Reach Talisman, and Shadow of Alexander if you have Rain of Arrows.

Combat Strategy

Stay at medium range to avoid damage fall-off while maintaining safety. Use your marking skill on cooldown to keep the damage debuff active.

Switch between different bows when your stamina runs low to trigger weapon-switching bonuses.

Focus on breaking marks for massive damage bursts, and use your ultimate to clear groups or deal heavy damage to marked targets.

Ironeye is great at dealing steady damage, and his natural loot boost makes him useful to the team. He is the most powerful and flexible character in the game because he can protect, damage, and help other characters.
